I have to say a lot of thank you to Gemini for his post on the Script Help and Language Discussion board .

And to BRPXQZME and DarthNemesis, both of you are awesome  Grin. Are you guys Japanese natives by some chances  Wink? Well, anyway with all of the kanji's are identified, my font table is almost complete. Although i guess it's quite useless right now, i'm sure Gemini would've dump all the main script by the time we speak right now.

Next, it would be the translating the script. Saito, theonlycorey, Next gen Cowboy and BoreS have cross into my mind, but that would depends on Gemini because i think me and Chael are gonna take a while to dump the script. Not to mention if those guys have a spare time to translate the script, and if possible someone who have in depth familiarity to Megami Ibunroku Persona Universe.

And one other thing, the FMV. Are we just gonna copy the English Persona FMV or make a subtitles to the original FMV to stay true to the originalities of the game? What do think guys?

Yes, it's already all dumped, but there are way too many duplicate dialogues for now. Still need to adapt my IS duplicate database manager to Ibunroku, but it shouldn't be very hard considering I gave both text dumps exactly the same format.

Well, the idea is to give all the dumps to theonlycorey and let somebody do the hacking, but so far nor hacker or theonlycorey showed to take care the task, so I'm probably gonna keep doing things making them consistent with IS (the spell list is all based on my glossary), and leave the translation to Tom when he's not busy with other projects.

If you were to use the North American voice for Philemon, then you'd have to give all the characters the same treatment. In my opinion it's better to keep all voices in Japanese and use some simple subs.

I have a Question. Are you guys that are working on the translation of the Jap version going to be allowing people (Such as myself) access to the finished product? Will I be able to download the transed version, or will I have to apply patches? Can you tell, I'm a big noob!!!
1 other thing, you guys kick ass, I know a lot of people who will be smiling once I show them what you guys have done!!!

Translations most often come as patches. But there are legally questionable ways around that, like if someone creates a torrent of the translated ISO.

For those interested in the project, main dumper sources. You need VS 2003 .NET to compile it, but I'm sure it's also compatible with VS 2005. The program is a lot incomplete, but it can dump fixed-length strings, dialogues, and list of strings. I'm posting it here for all people who want to give it a try since I probably won't in a while. If you want to test it a little, be sure to put these files in the "files" folder: E0/1/2/3.BIN, SLPS_005.00 and it will dump all dialogues, the kana spell list, and some spell descriptions. Have fun.

Nothing kills a thread like a big chunk of source code that no one can compile ( I have VS02).

Big? If that's big, you gotta see the stuff on Innocent Sin. Anyway, I *think* sources should also compile fine with VS6, if you can enable Unicode. What's the problem exactly?

No real problem, I'm just too lazy to make it work in 02. I downloaded a converter, but like I said... lazy. At any rate, thanks!

Weird. Now that a tool for script dumping has been created, the translation project died. Wasn't theonlycorey in desperate need of that?

Perhaps they're working too hardcore on it to even post progress?  Tongue (one can dream)

Considering that most of our translators probably don't even have half of the sub-standard programming experience that I have, maybe they cannot compile your program? I mean, I felt stupid enough just looking at the source code... maybe you could release an executable?

As for my work.... Gemini, you killed my buzz by releasing first. Undecided\

BTW Gemini, do you have AIM?

I didn't because it's still incomplete. But if you really want it, get it here.
