Might as well drop this here, come to think of it.

Squee! I'm glad you decided to do the GBA version instead. It's a lot better than the SNES version, let me tell you. This title screen looks very nice and colorful, unlike the US version's bland title. Tongue

It could be worse. 4 left the US title in raw Japanese, down to the 100% empty white background unfitting with the rest of the series. :banghead:

Couldn't find a previous romhack/translation for Asmik-Kun World II for Gameboy. Probably because the only Japanese in the game was in the title. I decided to go with the same style and title as the original Asmik-Kun World's official release "Boomer's Adventure in ASMIK World". Here's the result.

Here's the original game's title screen for font comparison. I tried to stick with the same font style as the original, within the games constraints.

Just looking for some constructive criticism. I'm a long time lurker, this is my first contribution, albeit a small one.

That looks pretty awesome. You got it spot-on.

Been on a Gameboy kick and decided to spruce up Gameboy Wars Turbo's title screen. It had a lot of open space, and I just wanted to jazz it up.

I'm currently trying to contact TransBRC at their old contact email to get the okay for me to release an update with the title screen edit. I had to use the wayback machine to find the site, which has been dead since 2008, and not updated since 1999. So if anybody knows how I can get in contact with TransBRC to ask about a possible update patch, please PM me.

It was kind of hard to fit, because a decent amount of tiles were recycled.

I would never have known that title screen was fan-made. Good job!

I can't find anything I can tell you about the Gameboy Wars one, though. It feels a little off, but I can't pinpoint what. Besides the TRANSBRC looking like a bunch of gibberish, that is. Hmm, maybe it's the thickness of the letters, or in this case, lack of. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be that thin precisely because of the limited space... Maybe making "Y" a little thinner to match the rest of the font? Hmm... That may not be a good fix... It's that "O" staring at me... It feels like that O is the biggest culprit.

I don't know, hopefully someone else here can give you better criticism on your GameBoy Wars titlescreen.

Okay, I took your suggestions and tweaked the title screen a bit. I made the "AMEBOY" and "ARS" a bit less rounded, the letter Y one pixel thinner, the O the same size as the others(I was trying to make it look like a reticle originally), and I made two options for the TRANSBRC logo.

This has the "Trans BRC Presents:" shading brightened up and the black box eliminated. I think it makes it a bit less gibberish looking.

This is the same one with a larger "TRANS BRC" logo.

Personally, I never really liked incorporating group names and other misc stuff directly on the title screen. If anything, there's room enough for another line on the bottom where the credits can go.

Oh yes, it looks much better now. Although... Do the G and W really have to be that thick? I mean, it looks better now but it still feels like there's something weird going on. Also, I never mentioned anything about the rifle, but that's kinda a nice touch.

I don't know what to say about TRANS BRC. Both look liable to be seen official translation of a game so yeah... Well, I CAN tell tell that the top one looks like it's saying TRANSBRCPRESENTS:, but I'm sure sure you were tight on space there considering the size of the original screenshot and all screenshots following it. I guess my suggestion for that is, if you can't get the "Presents" part in there smoothly, then it's probably safe to just take it off.

Anyone wanna play with that a bit? The only thing I need is to change the "V" in Juvei to "B" in the same style...

The "b" looks upside-down and the holes look wrong.

You're right, it does look upside down.  Tongue

It's a little difficult getting the perspective right, because the top's sloped and the bottom is flat. I hope this one looks better.

The holes in the "B" still looked a little off though, maybe a little bit too big. So, I made one with the holes a little bit smaller as well.

Silly suggestion: try making them narrow, vertical holes, like in the "S" in "quest".

The B looks wrong because you’re still using the outline of the V. It will keep looking wrong until the outline is the shape of a B.

The holes should look (perspective-wise) like they line up with the holes of the first E; the holes in the second E should give you a rough idea as to what the holes in the B should look like.
