FF7 had such a vast following and all, that anything called FF8 would've been highly controversial. They didn't really have any realistic option to follow it up. No matter what, legions of fans would nitpick to hell.

Isn’t that why most people dislike FF8? Well, I’ll admit it’s one of the reasons I like FF8.
Final Fantasy VIII was probably the most fun I had with a game of the series. Ironically, I don't think I'll EVER play it again after I found out about the level scaling thing. I never fully replayed RE4 after I found out about it too. It's kind of weird. I guess I could say I LOVE level/difficulty scaling because it keeps the game challenging, but at the same time, I can never play it again once I find out about it! lol RE4 as in what? Not Resident Evil 4...

Not Resident Evil 4... Yeah, Resident Evil 4! Long story short: in Normal Mode, the game gets progressively harder or easier depending on how good you are playing. If you're passing everywhere not getting game overs and such, ganados will drop less items and deal more damage when they attack. If you die, enemies will be, let's say, dumber and not so strong/agressive as last time. Die again, and you might even have fewer enemies than normal waiting for your next respawn. See how it works? Professional Mode is a bit different: the difficulty will be at the highest level possible and won't go down if you die, simple as that. One of the reasons why I love RE4 and played it countless times is because I always loved how the game managed to be challenging. After I discovered WHY that happened, it kind of... lost a bit of its magic, you know? D: It's still a suberb game that I play from time to time, but I really wish I hadn't ever known about this little detail...

Just posting to say thank you. I've been patiently awaiting a translation for this for years....watched eagerly every group that has attempted this....cried when stalls and walls were hit and it seemed like DQ3reprise would never see translation glory. And here it is.
Thank you.

Thanksssss!!!! I have been waiting patiently for months, so now Persona 4 PAL will have to wait By the way, has someone been able to make it run on zsnes? It worked for me on snes9x, but not on zsnes 1.51 (which is my fave emulator).

i'm playing it on zsnes as I type. Though the text boxes cut off the text at 1.5 lines...gonna try a few other emulators and see if that's just zsnes being annoying again.
Edit: bsnes doesn't cut off any text for me, so I'm going to assume zsnes has some issues with it.

I've been replaying RE4 because my memory card blanked out (destroying all of my save files) and I was super close to beating RE4... Because I know how to play RE4 better than when I started, I'm plowing through parts of the game like nothing. Darn... I wish I had gotten myself killed a few more times...

Many props guys, this work is phenomenal.
I found some errors though (also, I'm playing this on the actual hardware).
The Hero's grandfather's dialogue has a typo "becoem."
When you make your own character and distribute seeds yourself, "ty" or the last two letters of the stats tend to get cut off and show up on its own line.
And right before the lake cave where you use the magic ball, the book in the shrine that tells about whips and boomerangs doesn't clear the dialog box properly so one of the sentences overlaps one of the old ones.

Alright, I have to ask this.
Am I the only person who can't get this to work? I've tried three different Roms, four different emulators (one of which I tried two different versions of), applying to an unheadered ROM, applying to a headered ROM, and redownloading the patch twice.
I just don't see what's going on. All of the clean ROM dumps work perfectly in all of the emulators I used (ZSNES [ver. 1.51 and 1.30], SNES9x, BSNES, and some emulator called SNESGT). Basically, the game either: A)Goes to the splash screen and then freezes, or B) skips the splash screen, goes to the title, and then freezes there. Has anyone else had problems like this?
