wouldnt it be cool if square enix made a sequel to chrono trigger that was before cross meaning right after the ending and with most of the same characters and in 16 bit snes graphics? and released it as a downloadable or something?

I think the DS remake of Chrono Trigger had an extra ending that supposedly bridged CT and CC together. I never got it but I do know it does exist since I've seen videos and scans of it.

Except Cross is a sequel to Radical Dreamers, thus making it hard to understand as to why there are two games that both point to Cross, if the extra ending in Chrono Trigger is to be believed.  Then again, it is a game about time travel, so maybe these are just alternate universes or something.

Cross isn't a sequal to RD. It uses ideas and crap from it.

Which makes Cross even more obscure in the timeline of events but... yeah, ok.

Y'know, I never really did bother trying to make sense out of Chrono Trigger or Chrono Cross. Heck, my love for CT came about as an accident and was born from the frustration I was having with FFIV.

Then again, I rarely ever take things seriously anyway.

Maybe I'm wrong on this but wouldn't it of had not of gotten that "Ciest and Desist" if there wasn't so much hype spreading around on the internet like a wild fire? Does Square-Enix not care about Final Fantasy Hacks because there are quite a few on the internet.

Actually most of the hype spread after the Cease and Desist letter was announced.

So why don't Final Fantasy hacks get a C&D?

■e has a de-facto “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy in place.

Does your first word in your sentence make any sense?

Perfect sense.
â–  = Square
e = Enix

Or ■e, as it’s (sometimes not so) affectionately known in Japanese linkshells and discussion boards. “Squeenix” doesn’t sound like something you can say at the dinner table.

SKOO-IN-IX. Sounds like you have something in your throat. How'd you make that square show up? I'm guessing it's an ALT command..?

So why don't Final Fantasy hacks get a C&D?

Square-Enix will only ever care if Final Fantasy VII gets hacked. THAT's when they'll start shaking in their boots and throw the C&D hammer. And other FF hacks are just droplets in a huge bucket. Dang, I hope I used that correctly.

On the other hand, Chrono Trigger is just one game with a sequel that isn't seen very highly. Couple that with the grand and glorious port remake of Chrono Trigger on the DS and you might think S-E thought they had competition. Heck, CTDS has that new ending that bridges CT to CC, right? Crimson Echoes was supposed to do that too, wasn't it? Well, what do you think?

As a company, they probably had every right to throw the C&D hammer at a property that was going to be resurrected. They could have done things a little differently though so as to not upset fans.

⌘C+⌘V, in true Interbutt fashion. Can’t get it with an ALT code, as far as I know.

The Internet-savvy often do modify their IME’s so they can type in, say, “かおもじ” and select “∑(゜△゜;)” or whatever, as well as give themselves easy access to a variety symbols. Much easier than always having to find the thing in a list.
