I think I like the general look, but I think the colors aren't right. Did you use the same colors that were there? It seems dull/washed out/less colorful compared to the original title screen:

It was just a sketch but I'll try to correct the colors later.

I haven't confirmed yet, but I believe the reflected tiles use the same tile data, but mirrored via the x/y mirror attribute tilemap bytes. So it would also be in English. Although it would be kind of cool to have English at the top reflecting Japanese at the bottom. I could probably do that if there is enough free space, but it will be more work. Come to think of it though, I'll probably have to do work on both top and bottom anyway being that the English will most likely not fit in the number of tiles as the Japanese.

We'll see. Sometimes title screen hacks aren't worth the effort. But they do look nice and stick a nice professional like touch on it.

Guess we'll probably 'erase' the white smaller version of Emerald Dragon. No need to have it in English twice. It would be cool to have small Japanese in it's place, reversing them, but who's got the talent to do that?


P.S. What does the Japanese copyright text say at the bottom of the screen? If I'm feeling particularly motivated, I might translate that as well.

I think it looks too busy with the dragon hook.  However, I think it's the ED emblem in the middle that looks out of place (and plain ugly, imo).  I would say scrap that and move the katakana closer to the dragon tail to center it up a bit.
