^Re: Quotation marks in dialog; I kinda tend to avoid using quotation marks around regular dialog boxes in games. Why don't I normally use them? Because it means I have to use whatever "secondary" quotation mark is grammatically correct to use in the target language for whenever a character actually says something that's in need of quotation marks (You know... the whole quote inside a quote thing... and the whole

Which one looks better? Over look the fact that it should be "Producers". That'll be fixed later.

I'm indifferent about them both, but if you want my 2 cent and a completely different suggestion; assuming all/most names are just composed of 2 names (given and family), I'd suggest checking out how having the first of the two print with right alignment and the second print with left alignment (space acting as center). This so that the space is always in the same spot on the full credits list. Of course, this might end up looking like ass, but it'll stylistically at least make things more "connected." In the second sample shot, I actually had to stop for a sec to make sure that the first name wasn't actually Takeo Toshihiro. Of course, implementing a routine for centered spacing might be annoying, manually formating all name entries might be a bit of a chore too, and ultimately it'll ruin the current centering of names (as the space between the names would always act as center)

Alternatively, you could use two lines pr. name and then another line to space things (although that might make you run out of screen space if there are entries with long lists... time to make new entries!)

   PRODUCERS
Takeo
         Isogai

Toshihiro
         Suzuki
(let's hope that displayed the way I kinda mean. Could of course be done without the funky left/right alignment seen there, but with centering, or left only, or first left, second right, third left, etc...)

Anyway, just random ideas/suggestions!

I would say that it needs to be without quotes, because Goku isn't quoting himself (or someone else).  He's just speaking.
Then explain Gemini's example. Or quotation marks used in that manner in many other games.

~DS

"Guard: He said something like, "now you're going to die!" but then he ran off..."

This looks extremely awkward.  It would look even more awkward if I didn't have the Guard: piece in there as well, indicating that it's the guard who's speaking.  Even with this, what this could indicate is someone quoting what someone else said, who is then quoting someone themselves.  That's just distracting for anyone who understands how quotation marks work.  I'm not saying that you can't do it, just that it looks strange and in fact makes the character look like they're speaking in third person.

A better way
Guard: He said something like, "now you're going to die!" but then he ran off...

better still
Guard
He said something like, "now you're going to die!" but then he ran off...

The second one is merely preferable because it's a complete separation that indicates the subject is speaking actively rather than passively.

Don't forget the consideration that they may not have double quotations in DBZ:HD.  If that's the case then quotations should be fine.

Well, not grammatically, but if you're referring to consistency and cleanliness, then you're correct.

Which set of trees do you think looks better?

The ones on the left struck me first, but the more I look the more I like the ones on the right, especially the trunks.

The ones on the left look more traditional, a definite plus on my side.

I have to say that both look good, but agree that the ones on the right look more realistic and would be the better choice.

I think it's not so much the choice of trees that makes one look to the right and find it better than the trees having a different green color.

This one. And it seems it's this one decidedly.

I still think it's because the green looks different with that much black in the tree. It seems darker than the grass and therefore more pleasing to the eye, really.

The ones on the right do indeed feel slightly more "rich" (in lack of a better term to use)
