Finally making some headway on a tool for playing with SPC files and BRR samples.

Interesting. So what is that doing exactly? Allowing you to preview what the sample will sound like by adjusting the DSP parameters below? If so, that is awesome!

I've been looking forward to Super Mario Unlimited and I was wondering what happened to it lately.

I have to ask about the bricks. Why not just make them fully connected instead of leaving that noticeable black space in between them? It would seem that they would be much more aesthetically pleasing if they were.

i made the bricks a few years ago after trying lots of things and those looked the best. i'm at the point where i'm not gonna change anything if i don't have to.. i just want it released!

More features added to BRRAmp and it now supports reading and writing all the parameters that are shown. Link

Here are a few screens of SRWJ with the battle graphics inserted. The graphics themselves aren't finalized, so comments and criticisms are welcome.

There's a very strict color limit, just so you know. I'm limited to the colors you see in the lettering gradiant, along with one shade of black for the outline.

The ‘f’ and ‘t’ in that font look bizarre. In a typical font, you’d make the left side of the crossbar shorter than the right side (compare “Beast”, “underestimate”, and “of” to how they appear on this board, for example; note how there isn’t much negative space in that lower-left-hand part of the ‘t’/‘f’).

For the graphics, the outlines in particular could afford to be more consistent. There are parts where the outline is two pixels, even though it’s mostly one pixel. In addition, gaps inside letters look strange. In the “BEAM COAT” graphic, the holes in the “B” are about half the size of the hole in the “A” (which is a peril when you work in pixels, of course). Ideally, for a B, you should avoid implying that the top is “heavier” than the bottom, so I’d suggest moving the inside bump up a pixel and expanding the bottom hole.

They look too "bubbly" to me.  'SHIELD' is the only one that looks as if it belongs in the game >.>

But then again, even the battles have two different styles, so I dunno :/

As ridiculous as most SRW dialog is, I would say bubbly fits them fine.

Might as well some off Arabian Nights progress.

This text had been in Japanese until a little while ago.

Only missing support for a handful of the features of the DSP now.... (FIRX, noise generator rate, turning off echo output, etc).

It's looking better and better. Smiley

What does this program take for file input? An SPC file seems to be suggested by the options.

If you hover the mouse over the sliders, can you see the actual numerical value you're selecting?
