3) add a button that makes the text display instantly, I might actually play this.
Actually, the Japanese to Chinese patch made by Agemo has this feature.

It may be interesting as a side patch for those who already beat the game but, personally, I would never put such a hack in a translation patch, since it would change the feeling of the game to those who haven't played it.

But I think a side-patch might be interesting, yes (not that I'd use it... I think Xeno is meant to be played slowly).

Anyway, should someone be interested in "fixing" the text and the windows, I think Chop (member of my team, SadNES cITy, and creator of many important Xenogears tools) will release an upgraded version of our translations tools which will support a custom VWF (grazie mille, Chester!) and, hopefully, contain some ASM hacks to remove length restrictions (for instance, items in the official Xenogears can be only long up to 12 characters).

Finally a screen shot! I thought we had given up on the thread title for a while there! Maybe people just don't like showing off their work now a days?

Any one around here interested in doing a little graphics work for me? I need the character names for the 8 different people in Hyper Dimension drawn in a style similar to the original kanji in the above screenshot. Dimensions are 72x16 pixels.

Didn't wanna make a new thread just for this. Send me a PM if you can.

EDIT: Actually, I threw together a few names using the VWF font and it doesn't look too bad. What do you guys think of these mock-ups?

I guess it’d be fine if it were aliased correctly. As it is, the “u” is too skinny and other letters have bizarre... corners on ’em. But the typeface itself is fine.

A cookie to the person who guesses the game.

Hint: It's not Mother/EB0

I guess the game is SMB1.

Where's my cookie. Note that you didn't specify correctly guesses. I made a guess and I want my damn cookie.

Hmm.

One of the FF games?

And I'll take my cookie when you can get around to it. Smiley
