Of course it can be changed. Most likely though...All the other stuff that uses the black (the windows) will get changed to. Look up documents on palette hacking.

first i have 27 years old.
2. i dont know why youre calling idiots people that want help. you must help them instead of insult them. i really dont like to be insult for nothing its a child thing. think about it. if you want more people to become hacker help them instead.
3. my first language is FRENCH, im not great with english, but i reading pretty well if not perfect.

Hmm. Well, he's french, so it makes sense.
It's not uncommon for people to assume that a massive use of LOL means that it's a child, because... well... kids tend to over use chat terms. That and the redundant questioning. I understand you're new, but your best bet is to start slow and work your way to the top.

Curses! Beat me to it by like... Well, alot! I use NESpaled. You need to get the address for the background though. I imagine it shouldn't be too hard to do... I just imagine everything else that uses the same palette will go to hades. Plus, j'ne parle pas francois bien... So no harm done with not knowing a foreign language! I believe English is one of the harder languages to learn as a foreign language anyways, isn't it? |

GOOD NEWS !!! ITS WORK I CHANGED THE BACKGROUND COLOR... but the rom dont work properly anymore, the music is corrupt and the graphic too.

Wow. You got past me.  I tried changing the palette around. Nothing I could see happened. For heaven's sake, though. What the heck did you do to corrupt the music and the graphics?! XD I'm about as good at romhacking as a rock is. Someone else here may find a way to fix your problem. |

first i read some palette documents.
2. i run nesten and run final fantasy 1 ( i tried final fantasy instead of dragon warrior because battle is faster to have in the beginning of the game)
3. i see the palette. and understand that the black palette is 0f.
4. i saw that in final fantasy palette theres a blue light the number is 31
5. i changed all 0f for 31 with HDD hex editor.
6. now the rom music and graphic are corrupt. and the game dont start after choosing caracter. the beginning background is really light blue.
7. now i open nesten with final fantasy 1 and i saw that the palette is completely fucking. so i think i have to change only some 0f for 31 but not all, because it change the color of all the games. maybe some 0f have not to be eidted because they do others thing than colors ?
what do you think ?
WOW COOL, im near to get it. i find the code to change the world map black in blue light in sound kinda weird. but the game is not corrupt at all.
i have a cool on NOW: i can change the world map plain only with the color i want. Its cool with a light blue its like playing final fantasy in north country LOL ( change all : 0F A1 to 31 31 ( for light blue)

HAHAHA! :laugh: You made me laugh out loud. I haven't actually bursted out with an audible laugh on a message board in a long time. That's a hilarious newbie without a clue mishap. Definitely one of the all time best.
I can't believe you have no idea why you corrupted everything.
You went and replaced all of the 0x0f hex values in the ENTIRE ROM with 0x31. Don't you know what that means? That means you replaced values that occurred in game code, graphics, sound, and EVERYTHING. It's no wonder it even boots. You got lucky there.
You only needed to change ONE value of 0x0f to 0x31. ONLY do it in the palette data.

There are over 100 occurrences of 0x0f 0x1a in Dragon Warrior III. You changed a whole lot more than the palette buddy. The reason you don't see the results right away this time is because there were a hell of a lot more occurrences of just 0x0f than there are of 0x0f 0x1a.
I'm telling you why you got corrupted the results the first time. And I'm telling you why your hack does more than change the palette this time as well and you won't be able to play the game from start to finish without any side effects.
Yes, you DID change the palette, but you also changed a lot more. You're not going to become a ROM hacker by ignoring advice like that.

i found 3 funny dragon warrior 3 hack.
1. when you go to map the map is a ocean you cant walk in it
2. a new bass music
3. after battle finish some fucking ramdom text appear with music.
LOL
its not easy i have some work at this for some days i think isnt ?

I don't see the palette for the battle background (when I use the PPU viewer on FCEU). O_o I changed some other palettes around and I still did not find any results. O_O So... This is going to be harder than I thought it might've!
