I totally agree, but I wouldn't discredit the original sequel as "not really SMB2" but they are all very fun!

/end derailment.

I'm just going along with Nintendo of America's decisions every step of the way on this one..

it's all good Smiley I have the tendancy to play devil's advocat.

This isn't neccesarily for a hack or translation, but I made a US title screen for Gyromite. As you may know, the title screen for Gyromite for the NES in the US (as well as Stack-Up) uses the Japanese title screen (since the US and Japanese roms are one and the same) and Famicom title Robot Gyro:

Taken from here.

Using the logo from here, I created this:

I'd like to try the same with Stack-Up:

But I can't find a similar US logo. So anyway, what is the font used for "Block" above?

Here are some fake title screens I made in MS-Paint for how games in the Kunio series may have appeared if they were released in the US. All games are for Famicom unless otherwise noted. Games appear with a Japanese screen followed by my USA screen in this order:

Downtown Nekketsu Koshinkyoku: Soreyuke Daiundokai
Downtown Special: Kunio-kun no Jidaigeki dayo Zen'in Shugo
Nekketsu Koko Dodgeball-bu: Kyôteki! Tokyu; Senshi (Dodge Soldier) no Maki (GB)
Ike Ike! Nekketsu Hockey-bu: Subette Koronde Dairant
Shodai Nekketsu Koha Kunio-kun (SFC)
Nekketsu Kakuto Densetsu
Kunio-kun no Nekketsu Soccer League
Bikkuri Nekketsu Shinkiroku: Dokodemo Kin Medal (GB)
Kunio-kun no Dodgeball dayo Zenin Syuugou!! (SFC)
Nekketsu! Street Basket: Ganbare Dunk Heroes
Downtown Nekketsu Baseball Monogatari: Yakyuu de Shoubu da! Kunio-kun (SFC)
Shin Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun - Kunio Tachi No Banka (SFC)
Kunio no Oden (SFC)
Nekketsu! Beach Volley da yo: Kunio-kun (GB)

That's actually pretty good! I think that they somewhat may have been like that if they were released in the US. Nice attempt!

On the Crash 'n Boys Atlethic Challenge one, you need to modify the white outline so that it doesn't have that much whitespace. Other than that, everything looks fine for me. Let's see what the others have to say...

Graphically, they look good.

But I don't like the fact that you're not actually translating what the titles say. I'm a stickler for accurate (not literal) translations. XD

I'm just going for what they may have been like if released in the US. Some of these have already been fan-translated into accurate translations. I'm trying a different approach.

Howdy, all. Registered ages ago, but only posted a couple of times...figured I might as well show off some of my work. Smiley

My most recent hackjob, from an Atlantis no Nazo competition hack used at a party (hence the "SGE2K7 Edition"). I hacked in a sprite overlay for the sea serpent's eyes and mane.

My dormant SMW hack's current title screen. Along with multiple layers, this one uses HDMA to scroll the various parts at different speeds, i.e. the Earth and stars move separately.

And, of course, Legend of the Blob Bros. 2 (SMB2 hack).

I also did title screens for a couple of Gideon Zhi's hacks, namely Super Robot Wars 3 and Madou Monogatari. I don't have screenshots of those online, though, so you'll have to go to his site to see them. Tongue

Anyone want to give Ganbare Goemon 2 a shot?

Honestly, I think that screen looks fine the way it is.

You should find a way to throw English letters underneath the Japanese text to show what it means, but most people who play it will probably already know what it says.

Bmf, Welcome to Romhacking.net,

As for the email I sent you:

Can you please give me your (discontinued) current version of Doki Doki Panic NES, or are you still working on it?

I just wanted to see how your hack is doing, And possibly continue it!

Cheers,
