Some recent stuff of mine: This is Tomato Adventure, and aside from the embedded pointers, this is probably the easiest game in the world to hack for a translation. It even has an entire English font in it. And the pointers are all 32-bit, and there's a ton of free space. I wrote a bunch of tools and probably have most of the text dumped, but there's like 500 KB of it, so I might not continue with it. I might stick a doc full of info in the abandoned projects section of this site. It's too much text for me to deal with Unless anyone here is interested in taking it up, in which case give me a holler. ( video in case anyone is interested ) While I was doing Mother 3, I kept getting requests from people to translate the Legend of Stafy games. I don't know much about them, but I gave the first game for GBA a look. The only real problem is that the game's font is in an odd format (kind of reminds me of the .bmp format but with four pixels per byte). I started to create a new font and a font insertor, but I didn't get it to work, so bleh. I did manage to dump most, if not all, of the text. And it's like 500 KB too. These GBA games got such huge scripts, argh. And this isn't even an RPG! So I'll probably toss this in the Abandoned Projects sometime with some tech info and a table in case anyone feels like messing with it later. Here's a pic of me trying to insert the letter A in this intro. It made some cool logo-like thing instead. Also, there's a crapton of graphical text. And right now I'm focusing on Mother 1 of MOTHER 1+2. So nice and easy compared to Mother 3 I'm basically retranslating it from scratch and also including a few other improvements to make the game a little more palatable. Some more details hereSomehow this turned more into a project dump post, whoops.

And I'm amazed by the huge amount of text in that stafy game. I've heard good things about the games in that series, but always thought they'd belong in a standard platformer category.

Really, REALLY preliminary rendering of interactive actors - greenery, pushable blocks, treasure chests - with messed up scaling, unimplemented blending modes and RAM segments, etc., etc. But hey, it's still quite a step up from those green-white cubes, isn't it? EDIT: This is kinda creepy...

Hey, better than spinout's.
...Damn, now you need to get the first frame of the animations, that'll give you correct scaling too though..

I coded a font extractor/insertor for this a while back. You can get it here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/8mt3hvI also included the table file to save a bit of work.

I ported an umbrella from Animal Forest/Crossing 64 to OoT. Yes, something this simple is revolutionary for N64 hacking.
