Finally got around to finishing that merge / clustering algorithm for palettes. I proceeded to add code to output a YY-CHR palette file. Here's a screenshot of me using it in that program: As you can see in YY-CHR only some of the graphics will look right depending on which palette you currently have selected. The utility also optionally outputs an automatically generated xkas source code file with the merged palette data in text form, along with a table that links each tile to its merged palette. Excerpt: ; Index of which palette to use for each tile. PaletteIndices:
db $02, $08, $02, $08, $08, $02, $02, $02, $02, $02, $02, $02, $02, $07, $02, $02 db $02, $02, $07, $02, $08, $08, $06, $04, $02, $02, $02, $00, $04, $00, $04, $07 ....
; The actual palette data Palettes:
dw $0000, $14A5, $1597, $21FA, $2ADF, $7FFF, $03DF, $14B6, $18DD, $01FF, $1F5F, $3AB9, $4F9E, $0000, $0000, $0000 dw $0000, $14A5, $21FA, $1597, $2ADF, $5795, $6BFA, $7FFF, $1CE7, $64A5, $7A10, $0000, $0000, $0000, $0000, $0000 ...

I've seen Final Fantasy combine fantasy and sci-fi together. And heck, FFVI does the fantasy + post-apocalyptic thing too. That's the only example I can come up with now though...
Crystalis comes to mind but the remnants of the previous society are too few to give it a solid PA feel.

Hey guys, can I ask for fonts here too? I didn't see a topic about it and I don't know if I should make one for this.
Anyway, can anyone make or does anyone know where to find an English font that looks like this Goemon Gaiden Japanese font?
Link? --Moderator edit-- Massively big URL = stretchy tables.

Shouldn't it be "break-out"? Also, since when was a century a year? ("The year is the 19th century...", just imagine).

It should be "outbreak" actually. And Universal Century is a timeline designator, like Anno Domini, so it works that way.

The point of the screenshots was to show off the working VWF not the unedited script.

You've obviously never watched Gundam. Like Gideon said, it's not that the Univeral Century is an actual century, it's just like saying 2010 AD (or 2010 CE).

Now that the translation's done, I handed the intro off to Deuce for editing. Here's the results: Compare that to: Tanzra's most feared and powerful demons have come together forming a legion.
Harnessing all of the underworld's power, they have raised Tanzra the Lord of Darkness.
Tanzra has sent forth these demons to destroy! ~DS
