Sorry to seem nitpicky, but why not use something like "Clockwork" instead of "Karakuri"?

Is that the Beast Busters: Dark Arms font?

Where did you get the idea from Clockwork from? I googled Karakuri and I got something from One Piece and that had something to do with robots etc. But this castle in Goemon is just an old-fashioned Japanese castle.

That font for Akira certainly looks similar, but it's not quite the same as the BEast Buster font.

Reminds me of the Glory of Heracles 2 font.

Which become KitsuneFont. Cheesy
(because he self-admittedly used it many of his translations)

“Clockwork” is but one possible meaning of the word. I’m thinking it actually means “trick” in this case.

Well, it's got a maze in it and Goemon ends up getting "tricked" in the end.

Aha.  Okay, no big deal.  Karakuri is, in my experience, frequently in reference to some type of mechanism.  The context in which I've most often seen it is Samurai Shodown, which takes place roughly in the same time period of Goemon, doesn't it?  In both instances, two separate characters: Yagyu Karakuri Hanma and Karakuri Ocha-Maro both are made of/make use of (respectively) wood and metal machinery, gears, etc.  So, it's the first thing my mind goes to, rather than "trick."

Hah.  Well, in that case, I'd be tempted to translate it, just to retain the obviousness of the joke. Smiley

Cool.  I was just curious.  I've always liked that font.

I DEMAND royalties! Only I can use it!

(It's a good font for emulators, but I've yet to see how it looks on a real CRT TV.)

That is indeed one sexy font. I can't wait to actually be able to play Akira.

Admittedly, I don't remember the name of the font, but it's available in the many font archives on this site. I altered it slightly to fix some weird looking letters, but other than that, it's straight from the archive.

Whee! I <3 the internet. I was up late on the IRC channel last night, and asked a random question to MathOnNapkins about one of the bugs I was having in FFIV.

He's so awesome that not only did he know the answer, but taught me how to do it within 20 minutes flat.

- This is what this screen looked like before I did any hacking. Over a year old. Notice how the item prices are cut off because the item names are so long?

- Slightly less old. I expanded the item shop menus and moved the item names back far enough so that they don't cut off prices. Now I've got a new problem, the sprite for the hand icon is in the middle of the item name.

20 minutes of MoN talk later:

- Now they're only covering up the item icon. And I think that's much better.

Thanks alot MoN! ^_^
