well its the same with ZSNES the readme says it just records your button strokes, and just hits the same one when you replay it in the emulator, which has lead to some funny things happen:
a glitch happens and your character gets stuck, and just keeps running and jumping and whatnot, but not how you played (i've only experienced this with Super Metroid)

This usually happens only when you're using different versions for recording and playback. Tongue

ZSNES has not been reliable with movie recording at all in the past. I don't know how it is nowadays though, I think that got completely revamped recently but I've never recorded anything on the newer versions.
Years ago, I seriously killed Mother Brain around 10 times trying to record a 15% run and the record ALWAYS broke. I ended up recording an (really pathetically compressed) avi because a working zmv was hopeless.
Snes9x is pretty reliable with movie recording as far as I know - I've hardly ever heard of it messing up outside of using the wrong version of snes9x or rom, and it's never given me any trouble personally.

I need help from you people. I was trying to do Megaman Ultra and my Afterworld 8 hack (I made that hack) hosted on YouTube. I use Unofficial Nester to record the movie and supports the .mov file. But when I upload it, it says Invalid file format.  So I need to know which NES emulator has the supported file. FCE Ultra does not have movie support.

I can't get that version of FCE Ultra to work. It records audio fine but all video is black, is there something I'm missing here?

Just for the record, this version?

Make sure you're using the correct codec and codec options.
The XviD MPEG-4 codec is nice. Get the "K-Lite Codeck Pack" if you need codecs.

I tried Cinepak, WMV, and uncompressed. ALL gave me black video, and uncompressed barely let FCEU run at all. And there's no way I'll install K-Lite, that's just asking for trouble.

Fuck this, I'm going back to the method I used to record my Simpsons playthrough, even if it's cumbersome as hell. :p

It deinstalls other codecs that are incompatible (or older, I think) and you can confirm / deny. I had "Satsuki's Decoder Pack" installed before, and no problems so far.

Sounds like something is not quite right with your OS / multimedia settings. (Is hardware acceleration activated?)

I've never had any issues with the K-Lite pack. It uninstalls the old pack for you when upgrading, and it pokes you about any codecs you already have installed. Plus you have full control of exactly what codecs from the pack to install. Installing a new K-Lite pack invariably fixes all my codec problems whenever they pop up.

Beats me. It's supposedly on, but I've been having huge video card problems for three months now, after my power supply fried itself.

You can also post into the screenshots thread, or a personal project thread.

Please don't embed; link is fine.

Very cool. Personally I don't think the subtitles work, but it's still cool. All the credits around the place also makes it look sort of unprofessional, almost as if I'm about to watch a fansub or something. It's probably just a personal gripe, but I think it would look more professional if you just had the English sub at the bottom and nothing else. Still, it's very good.
