But your argument is non sensical. There is no such thing as an Amuro, a Judau, or an Usso. However there is a German flower named the Kamille, but who even knows if that's pronounced the same?

And there's the pesky fact that he's NOT a girl.
It's meant to be feminine, I can tell you've never watched the anime. Do watch the anime before you try to argue with someone about a character from that anime. Or atleast do your research. Wether it's named after the flower or wether it's a girls name I can tell you one thing for sure, it's suppose to be feminine. Don't believe me? Watch the first episode of the freaking anime.

Infact just go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamille_Bidan.

Kamille particularly hated his feminine-sounding name - and thus asserts his manhood by developing a hobby in amateur mobile suit creation. This he might have inherited from his parents: both are Federation officers and among the main engineering team that designed the Titan's prototype unit, Gundam Mk-II.

Amusingly enough, I HAVE seen the anime. He's not actually all that feminine. Weak? Sure. Unsure of himself? Definitely. But not feminine.

Also, once again you completely missed my point. But hey, at least I get to use the shiny new headbanging smiley!  :banghead:

Anyway, I'm done. I've given my reasons for prefering Camille, so I no longer have a use for this topic. I'm not going to argue with you guys. Kamille is fine, I just prefer Camille.

Spoilsport.
Better it be me than Banny McBannister Nightcrawler. Tongue

You guys are so lucky Kitsune took action. Banny McBannister here would have cleaned house. I would have locked the Screenshots topic altogether, and started kicking bannedass and taking names. Tongue

Lucky for you, when I returned to the board today, I found the Screenshots thread in nice order, and all discussions were in their proper places. This pleases me very much.  Carry on. Grin

Not to resuscitate a topic that deserves to die, but I just want to make my own stance clear...I mean, since the guy is in SRW2, and the script's in my hands right now (though I haven't really done a hell of a lot with it yet).

I prefer the spelling Camille, but I'll use Kamille.

I hate Zeta Gundam's English dub, but I hate inconsistency just as much.

This is giving Kaeru vs Frog a run for its money.

Quite.  Cheesy

Maybe it's just me, but the obsession of a letter usage in a name is astoundingly stupid, and sometimes just not worth arguing about. You guys who demand change should just change your name visually just for kicks and see how radically different you become (or really, no different than before).

For example, if your name is Chris, go change it to Kris and see how your world changes... or not.

Yeah. And there even was a simple yet unequivocal way to settle it...

No one demanded change, I gave my opinion and everyone else decided to argue with it.

I thought you were "done"?

EDIT: Interestingly enough it would seem Kamille is used as a woman's name as well.

I'm done arguing, no one's arguing.

As for that, the link doesn't work, and Kamille can be used as an alternate spelling of the name Camille. In the end if you use that argument, either is fine.

But...what happened to Kamille only being the name of a flower? Sad

Search Kamille, you'll find a flower, search Camille, you find an actual girls name.

Quote from: Rai on April 30, 2007, 08:57:12 am
Camille is a girls name of Latin origin.

Kamille is the German name for the Chamomile flower and I'm not even sure if that's pronounced the same way. I AM however, sure that "Camille" is indeed pronounced the same way.

As for the link it was to an artist named Kamille Corry. Never heard of her before today, but I did google "Kamille" as you suggested in a previous post and it was one of the first links. So much for only finding Kamille listed as a flower.

That has nothing to do with the argument. You basically just told me what I mentioned earlier in the topic, "Kamille" can be another spelling for "Camille". Using that argument, you can use either, and it wouldn't really matter.

This is fucking childish...Why don't we play a game...I think of a number from 1 to 420, and whoever gets closest wins...
Here is the number, to prove that I actually have a number in mind. You're a bitch if you peek. Tongue
