Crazy thought. Would it be possible to add a difficulty select? Enemies deal less damage, and the player has more lives/continues on easy difficulty than hard? If possible it may make damn near everyone happy. If not, well, c'est la vie. Make the hack you want to make.
The Famicom version of Akumajo Dracula has a difficulty select, on easy you don't fly backwards when hit and get to keep your subweapons after death. I can't remember if damage was tweaked but I'd imagine it was. Been trying to get a hold of that cart for years, lowest I've ever seen it go is $80.

Those two changes alone would make it much, much easier.

HUUUGE bump to show off a little more progress. I don't know how much optomon would want me to leak to the public, but here's what I know I can tell you. Expect a ton of new enemies, and mostly all new bosses. Here's a couple of them now: Same one from earlier, just with an updated sprite. I'm not going to say what this guy does, but hardcore CV fans should know what's up with him. I still need to finish reworking the sprite that optomon made for it. I finished the arms and ribcage, but I need to do the legs and head still.

Slogra! I assume Gaibon is floating around there somewhere, too?

Oh please, feel free to leak whatever you want.
The idea of Gaibon being in the game is still very much a possibility. As for Slogra, he's a bit of a midget compared to other CV games and I probably should have increased his size before I sent him to you. I'm so glad you got on retexturing some of the enemies, and slogra looks MUCH better already. Don't know about the Optomon boss though, strikes me a little odd that you made its eye and its body are the same color.
While testing the game, you might have noticed that a couple of enemies have temporarily disappeared from the game. This is because they are replaced with other enemies at the moment. I'm still thinking of things to do with several of the enemies (such as the mummies and the eagles carrying the hunchbacks).
I'll get around to posting the games sound in a while but not now because I'm not at my home computer.

That's pretty good for NES sprites. I'd love to see you touch up some other Castlevania Games. Especially the gameboy ones. I'm working on touching up CV adventures graphics, but I'm wondering how it would look if you did it.

Setz over are Acmlm actually gave me an awesome looking sprite for the floating eye boss thing: So I think I'll go with it. I really dig how it turned out. Here's how it looks in-game. For some reason it kind of reminds me of something that would be in Big Trouble in Little China... or a Beholder from Dungeons and Dragons

I like those sprites, especially the Medusa head, I was trying to draw one like that for my new hack.

Pretty much. The character's name is Armund DeNasty, a descendant of Grant's from around the Symphony of the Night era.

Okay I got a bit of a spoiler here, but I need some feedback. So anyone that doesn't mind taking a peek at what the ending looks like, go here: http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/44/3304gn.pngAnd tell me what you think **EDIT** I picked out a more readable font for the title screen and added some other text to it:

The two forms of olrox: The grim reaper: Next post I promise to bring in the soundtrack. Blasted thing, can't immediately get it hosted anywhere at the moment. Is there a way to upload files here?
