okay. so we've got a poll open. i guess we leave it open for a week and then open another poll with the top 5 and see how that goes?

Sounds good.  Smiley

Also, did you check this post where I explained a method to overcome your hiragana/katakana switching problem?

Can  we assume then that TokiMemo has been removed from consideration?

Question: what about ISO distribution? Cart games are pretty easy to find, but for a PSX (or any disc system), you're either gonna have to own the CD or find the ISO on a torrent or P2P program. I'm holding off on voting because I don't actually have access to any of the games. Wink

A lot of isos are also simply traded through free filehosters (especially rapidshare and megaupload).  There's a certain forum you can find by using google - and you don't need to register there.

Ahh what happened to Black Matrix? It was winning last night. Embarrassed

Haha, not that I really care, it just looks like a cool game. Cheesy

Edit: Man, we have to wait a week? I'm not that patient..  Wink

Well, to give everyone a fair chance to vote (since some users aren't on here as often) it makes sense to give it at least a week or so.

I could've sworn I'd already replied.

And you're missing a vital option in the poll: "None of the above."

Wouldn't that be about the same as not voting in the first place...?

If you're suggesting it because of the fact that someone may have another game to suggest, they can note it here and we can add it to the list.  It's already set up so people can redo their votes in the event that anything changes/they change thier mind/whatever.

Honestly though, I think if you don't limit people down to having to make a choice from a set list for a project like this, you run the risk that people could just drag it out for a long time with new suggestions, never agreeing on any one in particular... which is what I thought everyone was trying to avoid by having a poll in the first place..?

I don't know about that.. my experience with Wikia went something like this: "Blah blah we have a wiki kind of like that already, you should just add stuff to that." Angry

It would be better to find another wiki host or someone here who has a webhost and is willing to install one. I'm willing to find a host and set up a wiki if no one else has some webspace and would like to help out.

One question for people who are experienced in Psx hacking (*cough Gemini cough*), what emulator do you use for debugging? And what tools in general?

Edit: Is Black Matrix 00 a limited edition? I found an ISO for it, but it says "Limited Edition" and I want to make sure it's the right one. Note that I'm not downloading this because I think it's going to win, I just want to play the game, but I still want the right one in case we are going to work on this one. Wink

Exactly my thoughts as well. People will come with "what's with game xyz" all the time, we have to draw a line somewhere. I think the list we have now offers enough variety and choice.

The iso question: If we have decided on a game we'll pass around a link to a torrent someone will find or set up to get it to everyone per private message. That shouldn't be that much of a problem unless you run a 56k modem. Well, there might be others complaining that their stone age PCs are too slow for psx emulation or something like that but again - bad luck but we have to draw the line somewhere.

Here's a question; does anyone have screenshots for these games? It'd be nice to know what these games look like for those of us who haven't seen them.

When we have narrowed down the list to 5 games for the final vote I'll present every game with 2 or 3 screenshots and a link to a review.
