That's looking really good. It always seemed odd the Wii game and two PS2 ones were translated, but not this GBA entry. Wink

I'd be more excited if you weren't doing that in FF2us. But that's very interesting; playable Golbez.

I also dig the font; very much so. ^.^

You should appreciate me basing it on FF2us v1.1, it happens to be the most bugfixed of all the SNES versions (Actually, I think it's identical to Easy Type in that regard), it's not like any FF4 features were actually cut...

Aside from...y'know, battle commands and some spells. >.>

Anyways, inspired by Ryusui's responses in the "Is it possible to dump text from NDS roms?" thread and the fact that I have a flashcart now, I decided to go through and take apart some games to find a potential project.

Well, I hit the jackpot. And a fun game, to boot.

Now, I just need a translator. I contacted Deuce (since he's the reigning Ys expert in these parts), but I doubt he'll have the time for it. So if there's any translators out there who have some experience with the Ys series, and may be interested in doing the DS titles, let me know. ^.^

All of that stuff is still coded into the game and can be restored with almost no effort. The hardest thing to restore will be the full configuration menu, all the options still work flawlessly in FF2us but the menu needs to be recoded so you can actually set them.

I believe FF4 Easytype has the most bugfixes, but that count is at 1 (which is the weapon/shield item dupe bug). Then again, FF2US v1.1 has only 1 bugfix I'm aware of anyways (the Stop+Sleep/Paralysis bug)... however, that's because FF2US v1.0 had the bug, and not FF4 (or FF4ET for that matter).

Confused yet?  Tongue

I thought stop/sleep affected the original FF4 as well? Well, if it doesn't that's my primary reason for switching to FF2us out the window... Wasn't there also a bug with count/condemn in FF2us 1.0?

I made an error on that.. I originally thought FF4 wasn't affected by the bug, but it is. So FF4ET and FF2US v1.1 is unaffected.

(about Ys)
Looks like the DS version, fairly recent release, so unless Nightwolve did it, no.
Google search reveals his site crashed, nothing new hacking-wise.

I meant is it a new game or could the scripts be the same.
