All right, all right...now that I have the context, I see why they were translated the way they were.

I'll take care of it in a bit.

Sorry it took so long.

I haven't done 4 yet..."things" is such an ugly-sounding word. Mind filling me in on what exactly these "Utsukushii Mono" are, so I have a bit more context to work with?

Thanks a lot, I'm currently busy fixing up menu screens, so those graphics have time.

I'll pass up the question about chapter 4 on to my translator and report back then, I don't know the context myself unfortunately.

His reply:

Quote
The three beautiful things are:

1. A jewel
2. A bard's song
3. A love story

Just call it "Such Beautiful Things". The word "Such" should soften whatever "ugly" impact you think that the word "things" has...

Also, I would like the first chapter to be "A" Young Boy's Journey, not "The" Young Boy's Journey... The word "the" is used to specify one person in particular... The original title does not really specify whose journey this is... It could be speaking of the main character, or the other boy he joins who has just begun a journey to save his parents... Or it could be referring to a boy setting off on a journey in the very general sense... The word "a" captures the ambiguity of the title more than "the".

Will this do?

Yeah, I know..."Such Beautiful Things" managed to sound even worse in my mind (it sounds sarcastic somehow), so I just went with what I was originally given. I'm starting to learn it doesn't pay to question the translator. ^_^;

Thanks a lot for all of those

And don't worry about those changes, you wanted to improve the translations after all. It's always a problem to translate without context. Even if I don't know Japanese myself, I learned THAT from being here for 2 years now.
If I got those pictures inserted into the game I'll post in the project thread. It's not on the top list of my priorities though for the moment.

Thread revive!

I have here these 3 16x16 Sprites that need to become "Chance" for a slot machine minigame. I'm a horrible pixel artist though Sad Could someone help me out with this image?

The game does a lot of palette and transformation tricks on this graphic, so I don't think I can expand it to more Sprites, which is a big problem, I know. 6 letters on 3 sprites is very little space Sad

It's 4bpp reverse order and each sprite is 4x4 tiles. I only have the raw binary data this time, since I'm afraid importing images might mess up the palette stuff up here. (I don't know what the game does in detail with it, so I don't want to take any chances).

This is how it looks in TM:

(I know the literal translation is something along the lines of "riches")

This is the binary data:

http://download.yousendit.com/394C721A616B94C4 (Including the palette and a modified tmspec file so TileMolester can load it, made by Djinn)

If someone could help me out, it would be a big help for polishing DQM's last bits Smiley

Edit: Added the correct palette. Oh, and in the game those 3 sprites are displayed from left to right, btw. I knew I forget something, sorry.

Keep in mind 'Moonbrooke' was only Moonbrook in the GBC version. I think they may have chopped it to space restrictions of the system. I think it looks better with an e but it's up to you.

This any good?

If it has anything to do with a gambling minigame, I think the Playbill font is a good fit.
