Nice, I've always wanted to see a translation to a constructed language. Mind making this a patch and submitting to the database? I would but you didn't specify which ROM it's based on.

I don't know how to make it into a patch but, if you know how to do it please do it!

The screen shots came out messed up, I know. I don't know why that happened but it did.

Although the screen-shots are messed up, the rom is not so those ugly colors won't show

I don't think the patch can be submitted as there is no language selection for Ido.

What is the name of the original ROM?

Also, read how to patch and get the standard patching tool.

The name of the ROM is called "Super Mario World". I am to lazy to patch this rom myself, but if you want to go ahead.  Tongue

Well if Latin was added to the list, I don't see how Ido can't be... after the patches are finished of course. Smiley

Ido has been denied. We're not carrying Ido translations at this time. All x thousand people in the entire world will just have to deal. Not to mention, I can count the number of lines of text Super Mario Brothers has on my fingers. I have half a mind to not allow any translations of games with under 10 lines of text. Maybe when there is stronger community interest and substantial projects for it, it will be reconsidered.

Not to nitpick, but alot of people who are just getting into translation hacking do games of this type (you know, sidescrollers, etc... stuff like Jetman). I'd imagine there's at least 20+ projects like that already here. I don't think it'd be worth it to not accept submissions like that, just because there isn't a ton of text in the game itself.

I contacted the Romhacking staff and sent them this:

Dear Romhacking.net staff,

Recently, I have translated a game called "Super Mario World" into Ido. I have future plans to translate a lot more games into Ido. So, I wanted to ask, can you please make a Ido translation section? I have not seen a game for the sections under "Korean" and "Hebrew" so if you have a section for them and they are not using it, why not make a   Ido section? Or if not a Ido section, can you at least make a "Constructed Language" translation section?

We'll see what happens but, untill then I'll just be translating and posting in the forums

While this does sound like a legitimate reason to deny a particular hack, it doesn't explain to me why the entire category is being denied. Well it is common sense that the reason is because there are no hacks that have been accepted, but if a substantial Ido translation hack is created in the future will it be accepted? My opinion for these obscure language hacks is to make an "Other" category.
