Ooh.
Now, I need to play through either one of these. Are they just brush-ups of R/B, or what's the deal? I don't mind getting them, and after seeing the beauty that is Elite Map, I think I may just have to, just to see for myself. I was broke for the last... too long, so I never got my hands on FR/LG. So... yeah?

Red and Blue, but built on the Ruby/Sapphire engine. So the storyline is how you remember it. The gyms and trainer battles are mostly how you remember them. There are a few Johto Pokemon availlable in the Sevii Islands, post game. It's basically Red and Blue reborn for a new generation, and even more awesome.

Except you can't plant berries, I think. D:

There are a lot of things you can't do... because you couldn't do them in Gen 1 to begin with. You can't do Pokemon Contests, you can't plant berries or make Pokeblocks. There are some Pokemon who won't evolve because of the lack of a clock. The only things that have been ported over from Ruby are thing related to the basic fundamentals of the game. It still feel substantially like Red or Blue.
I love this version of Pokemon personally.

I'm still working on beating LG for the first time, but I have a question for you all who have fiddled with it. Because I don't want to toy with anything before I've beaten it. Can I change the pokemon evolution statistics?
Because the idea of the hack is because on ROMs, you can't really trade out all the time for critters and whatnot, so Machamp, Gangar, Alakazam and Golem are totally lost to the ROMers. So I mean, I could make them a catch only, but I would prefer to see them evolve...able?
Also, can that tool change the graphics/names/stats/etcetera of current pokemon? Cause I'll be honest. I'm cool having a few of the Johto pokemon chilling in the game. But I don't care for things like that DNA thing. Dieoxy? No, I don't really care for that thing, but I still definitely want that Rocket hack, which would require taking away a pokemon or two to make it. So... yeah. -nods- More questions, but I don't want to study until I've finished it personally.
