Well, we've already posted the new version, sorry.

Our names are still in the end credits, and those that don't violate our license will allow others to find out who made it even before playing it via the included readme and PDF. It didn't make sense to have our credits in the intro, anyway. The original developer's names didn't appear there. About the only thing I could've wished for was a better name than "DL Team", but whatever. It gets the point across.

i'd say, if it's quick and professional looking, go for it. if it's not something you'd find in a professional game, don't.

if your title screen says "Translated by JapEng Translations, v2.0, Translator: GokuReNzOkUkEn9999, Coder: iwanturpen15", there's something wrong.

on the other hand, the screen you just posted is excellent.

Ha don't worry, I think it's pretty lame too Tongue The title screen was the very last thing done and he wanted to get the patch out that day. I would've preferred a fancier intro screen, kinda like what Famicom Det. Club 2 has.

Oh you know what, you might be right. I don't really remember, it's been so long. DF just sorta gave me scripts, I didn't know what it was for exactly. And all these years I thought it was for DL1 Tongue Anyway, no harm intended.

Well, let my clarify I appreciate A LOT the work of translators. The credit or intro screens was only minor nitpickings that I though could do an interesting debate. I talked with some translators who think the same and I was curious to see what you guys thought about that matter.
It's awesome when you play a game with a MIJET patch (for example) and you feel you are playing the same Japanese game but in English. There's nothing to distract you from the enjoyment because it's an "invisible" translation. They even ad dual language so you don't loss the original information.

Anyway, byuu, do whatever you want. It's your translation and I don't want you to feel bad about crediting yourself Wink I love what you guys do and ever will.

A modified title screen or small splash screen hardly distracts from the translation if you ask me. You see it one time. It doesn't affect the game in any way. Besides, it's no different than what the people who originally make the game do. And generally, professional localizations also add a splash screen for their company in most cases. The only thing that separates us from them is we never got official permission to do it and aren't getting paid in any way.

Secondly, from a hackers perspective, it is of no concern. Take Wozz as example. I spent 4 years of my life working on it. I did it mainly for myself, but am nice enough to share it with everybody else. I could care less what anyone thinks about inclusion of a splash screen.  I deserve that much after putting in so much time. And it's not just me. I didn't do the project by myself. The people that helped me also deserve to to be recognized. It was going in there and that's that. People don't have to like it, but they also have little merit to complain about it.

A few moments of your time to respect the people and work that went into it is not a unfair price to pay. Wink

P.S. This isn't directed at any particular person in this topic just to clarify. It's just my general opinion on the matter.

Wasn't Atlus the international publisher of SRW:OG, not just the translator?  Publishers always put their name up in lights above the developer.  I don't think very many people like it that way, but that's the way it is...  sometimes it even helps a small developer (Vanillaware probably wouldn't have been able to attract as much attention to Odin Sphere, say, if it hadn't had "Published by Nippon Ichi" stamped all over it everywhere...  but that's a special case, because Nippon Ichi often has good taste with the games they choose to port over and publish here.  Atlus, too, come to think of it.)
