I had the same problem. My game has a dummy file so I think I may end up using that. I still have to figure out how to load a chunk of data from the disc into memory at a certain location. That's not too hard but I would have to do it in asm.

However, every time I try to replace them with CDmage, I get a message saying "Imported file must be RIFF CDXA type". Damn, I'm so close. Any ideas? How can I can add this type of header to an STR file?
CDMage can't import STR+XA (or XA alone) sectors.

Don't. Dummy files (usually 30 MB, or 3 minutes if you prefer) are necessary for the Psx to work correctly, considering it cannot read perfectly the last 3 minutes in a CD.

But isn't that strange? I mean, according to that guise, you should be able to extract the sectors with CDRWin and get some proper STR files, that you could then test with PSMPlay and leter add to an image compilation. However, even before I use CDmage, I just can't get any working STRs. So, it can import the files themselves, but not when they're the result of sector extraction. But I don't think there is an STR editor, to edit files them directly without having to convert them to AVI, is there? If not, I'm stuck with sector extraction. So, I have this STR files which I edited through sector extraction, they're the right size, ready to be imported. And I must insert them into the already existent ISO, not an image compilation. But they're not RIFF CDXA type, so I can't use CDmage. So, what choices do  have? Is there any other program I can use to import them? Some other program I can use to extract the sectors in a way they will be identified as proper STR files? Or is there some way I can convert them to RIFF CDXA?
