What utility should I use? I already found out the TLP is a no-no.

I think (not sure) that the graphics are similar to the PSX's graphics capabilities... So, I'm guessing one that can edit PSX graphics?

Thanks in advance!

Try Tile Molester. TM supports practically everything, though I don't know which graphics mode is equivalent to NDS.

From what I hear, NDS ROMs can be "unzipped" into individual files, like an FDS image, which might be helpful to know.

I swear I saw an NDS texture editor somewhere, but Google doesn't turn up anything, it may have just been for one game. Ryusui is correct, use DS Lazy to unpack your ROM into individual files.

Nintendo <> Sony.

This showed up on the news a while back, maybe it's what you're looking for.

Tahaxan can't insert any files atm. Cry You can just extract them.

Use Tile Molester and set it to a Psx compatible bitplane (4/8/16 bpp, linear reversed). 2D-wise Psx and DS are totally the same thing.

I tried Tile Molester (was the first thing that came to mind after I used TLP and created this thread). Said something a memory error. I don't remember the exact wording, though. I'll give it another go. Thank you everyone!

::EDIT:: Out of Memory error, then gives me 6078054094 something numbers bytes required. O_o

::EDIT:: using DSLazy, I found the graphics folder. They're in .narc format... Which is, to me, unknown. o.O Halp! XD

Here's Tile Molester's Big Problem: it loads the Whole Damn Rom into memory. Or ISO. Which is a problem if you're trying to open anything really big on a computer with little or no RAM. Tongue

That said, the next step should be obvious. Extract the graphics files and load those in Tile Molester.

Ah... Well, it wasn't so obvious to me, but I will do that and see! :P Thanks, Ryusui!

:EDIT: Well... Opening the .narc files on Tile Molester seems to not have worked so well... :( I set the codec to 16 bpp... Nothing. Set it to just about every other thing on that list and yet, still nothing! I guess I should wait a little longer, get a little more serious about RomHacking and wait for NDS hacking to develop further. :P Thanks anyhow!

*.narc files are package files, see http://tahaxan.arcnor.com for more info

NDS 2d graphics are basically the same as GBA which is 4bpp or 8bpp, the NDS is nowhere near PSX graphics which are 16bpp

Wrong. NDS doesn't use tiles at all, and Psx and NDS's graphics is not 16bit-only. The format is just identical to the Psx's. -_-

Um, of course NDS uses tiles. Just not exclusively, and it doesn't have 65536 colors available at one time in ram, so how would it achieve 16 bpp?
