I agree they are pretty bad. But still fun in a sense. They went through the trouble to make a 3d game with mask of the sun for ps2 but the graphics are still so bad.

I wouldn't even give them that much credit.  The control is floaty, the visuals subpar, the level design beyond awful ("How many completely-identical-looking areas of cave can we cram in here? 200? That's a great idea!")... they even took out some of the music!

Hell, they should've just licensed the current Falcom 3D engine...

Did the level design team for Castlevania Lament of Innocence work on this game? Tongue

No, but I know of what you speak.  This, however, is worse.  At least Lament gave you a map and had decently fun (if unspectacular) combat... and great music.  Ys IV and V for PS2 have no map, even worse level design than Lament, and the music sounds no better than the SNES originals.  Worse in spots.

Believe me when I say they are BAD games.  Even Ys V, which gave Adol the ability to jump, rarely ever puts him in a situation where he needs to do so!

Ys 3 looks freakin awesome for the ps2! Never did look at the other two so I will give you that one. I really think you should take into consideration 3 because oath is a completely diffrent game if you throw out the story. I myself will be playing both versions but if I had the ps2 version to play I would not complain ya know?
I still got to buckle down and play 2 tho.

Ys III for PS2 isn't bad.  It's not great, but it's not bad.  I'd love to rip Adol's sprites, but that's about it.  The game itself is simply not worth it, though.  You can beat it in 2-4 hours on your first try without dying.  Besides, if you play any version of Ys III, the story is basically the same.  Oath in Felghana had significantly more to it.
