LakuunaAs the above link shows, Lakuuna's undergone some website changes; but that's not really what's important. I simply wanted to tell everyone that Magna Carta is nearing completion for translation, mostly as a result of some recovered files. So, cheers all around everyone. I'll be working hard.

As have I, not nearly as long as I've been waiting for DL, but as soon as I saw the project I was excited.
Now I just have to get a PC good enough to RUN it... -.-

I have to agree. It's absolulely idiotic that 2/3 of your party stands around and does nothing while one attacks.

I would wait... I think this is the third time Talbain said things were close to completion since files reappeared, and every time it's all gone for again two months later

I'd buy it, but that's mostly because it's hard to find, not because of the patch.

The battle system in Phantom of Avalanche is considerably simpler than that of Tears of Blood (Crimson Stigmata everywhere else). Basically, the battle system for Phantom of Avalanche consists of you timing spacebar button presses. This allows you, if you do it right, to get an "overdrive" attack, which is basically just 4+ attacks in a row. It's kind of neat, but it's tough to nail down the overdrive attacks, while getting 3+ is usually pretty simple. The magic system is basically target based. You target something, the character casts the given spell on it. Each character gets turns based on their speed, and the enemy, by comparison, gets turns based on theirs.
Note that in this game there are no actual "stats" in the game, just elements that essentially become your stats. However, the elements are important to note in the fact that the elements have an impact on the effectiveness of your spells and potentially your attacks. So, sometimes an impossible battle can be made ridiculously easy by adjusting your character's elements. Overall, it's a much more interesting, albeit simple, battle system compared to the Magna Carta: Tears of Blood/Crimson Stigmata.
