Hello!  Can anybody help me regarding the SMB3 Text editor?  As far as I can tell, it can only use a handfull of letters and numbers, so editing on it is essentially impossible.  For intance, I went to change "World" to "Reich", but it comes out as  "Reicd", however, elsewhere it is spelled correctly.  So if anybody knows how to overcome these obstacles or knows a better text editor, please drop a line!

Oh, and if you're wondering what my Hack is called, it is "Super Nazi Bros. 3"""; a basic graphics and text hack like those made in the late 90s.  And no, it's not Racist;  You are Adolf Hitler and Otto Von Bismark in the Super Mario World.  Why they are there?  Who knows?  Perhap their hunger for world domination?

And if you know a better place where I can upload my precious ROMS, please tell me, because I can't stand waiting over a month for my hacks to get published!

Again, thank you for your help!

...didn't we just have a big discussion on one of the other boards about how RACISM IS BAD? Fuck. Now you've got me all pissed off.

Uh.

...

I've got a shiny ban button and I can't use it. Mods, input? Troll or not?

Ok, his hack suffers either from a lack of humor, or it's a bad nazi hack... however, you don't have to help him with his problem... I'd say just ignore it.

Out of principle, I'm ignoring the guy. I won't ban him.

Play nice, everyone. I don't like his subject matter, but he is asking for help, so behave.

SMB3 uses more than one table for the text, you're typing it right but there's what you're gonna do...

Open TLP and go here, see the red square? You're gonna replace the "D" with an "H"

After that save your ROM and you'll get this.

And that's pretty much it...

Wow, people, just because it has a "racist" name DOES NOT mean you go around and start killing Jews.  You are, essentially, Adolf Hitler and Otto Von Bismark in the Mario world, and they got there...because I felt like it.  So yeah, they are not killing Jews; they (the characters) think they are, but they aren't.

And thanks Googie!  But wouldn't that affect the rest of the D's?

On a different note, I tried renaming Mario Adolf, but it comes out as "Adolo", and I guess if I want it to say Adolf, I would have to change the "O" with an "F", but it would come out as "Adflf", therefore rendering replacing letters kinda risky and will make random letters appear.  Again, I am just guessing.  I also tried renaming Luigi Otto, but it would still be Luigi.  So I guess I'll just stick to making "Reich" consistent.

Well, thank you for your help.

And for the rest of you, since we live in a Fascist/Monarchy type world, you DO have the right to push us, the weak, around, until we start a rebellion.  Tongue

Couldn't you change the O to an F, and then change another letter, say X, to an O? So in actual text it would be "Adxlo" but in game it would appear "Adolf".

Only for that certain table in the text editor.

Well if you wanna, put the "D" back where the "H" is, and replace the "Z" with an "H" and if you're not gonna use the number "9" replace it with an "F", so try it that way if anything.

Wow, thanks for giving me the idea of using numbers instead of letters!  But, then again, that would screw up the score, right?  And in certain areas, like when toad tells you about the king, numbers aren't used.  So I guess I'll just stick to what Spike man said and replace the X's with a letter.

PS:  Why did Nintendo have to use so many text tables?  Couldn't they settle with one?  That would save (lots) of memory, I guess.

Well, Thank you once more!

So?  Is it Bismark?  The way I spelt it was the way it was in my world history textbook.
