This is true. Gideon's got the most talent out of any programmer I've ever known- and I've met quite a few in my time. He's a true legend- and honestly I hope that he understands the incredible service he has done for us all.
Hmm, actually Gideon doesn't do much programming at all from what I know, outside of assembly mods. His strengths really lie in other areas.- A firm grasp of romhacking concepts in both the normal and wonky games.
- Thoroughly versed in the stages of a translation from start to finish, so he can streamline it.
Of course, lots of people fit that description and never release a translation on their own. *cough* I'm pretty close to it *cough* But where his real strengths lie...that's what sets him apart from others.
- Strongly dedicated to relentlessly working on a multitude of games and following through on them. Without this, the expertise he has would be nothing.
- The above quality lends itself to wanting others that don't have the energy to do a full project to help him out on projects he either couldn't do alone (translators, utilities) and saves him time to do other work.
And there you have it, my analysis.
