I'm just putting a ROM translation idea here as I don't want to do ROM hacking, I was thinking that would it be possible to translate the Japanese version of "Final Fight 2" using the English from the US version since the English is already there for you, would be so good to have the English story and the Japanese gameplay since the female enemies (Mary and Eliza) were replaced by with male enemies (Leon and Robert) and the first boss is meant to have a cleaver. So if anyone would like to translate it for me then that would be good.

Just the fact that you pretty much just said that you are to lazy to do it yourself, and you want someone to go out of their way to hack a game that already made it to the US, because you don't like the content in it...

Now, with the civilities out of the way, Learn to hack, learn Japanese, or learn to keep your mouth shut...

(was that too much, I can never tell...)

Now granted I don't know anything about the differences between the 2 games, but it sounds like if it's just a few characters in the game that were modified, that it might be simpler to do a graphics hack of a few enemies in the US one vs. a full text replacement in the Japanese one...

That being said, the people here hack the things they want to hack for their reasons, and generally take offense to people just waltzing in and asking, or especially demanding, that someone hack/translate something for them.

They'll generally be as helpful as can be if you're trying to do the work and get stuck somewhere, but in no way does that mean they'll do it for you.  Remember: this is a hobby, first and foremost... and they generally don't have much time to work on the projects that they choose to work on in the first place, let alone to take on other projects for people who have no desire to do anything or to try to learn anything themselves.

I was poking the site FAQ looking for something along these lines. I may have missed it, but if it isn't there it might be nice to add it. Not that we get an absolute TON of these requests, but they do pop up and it might be nice to have a response already printed. Or, this could just be me being lazy and wanting to be able to either post a link or C/P something already written  Tongue

I dunno.

I don't like it when people get scared away, though.

If it's not some crazy-ass hard ordeal, I'd figure it'd just be simpler to do a full-on retranslation. >_>

There is just one thing here I have zero tolerance for - "Translate this for me since I'm lazy".

I don't think offense is the right word (if it is it should not be) I would say they get annoyed rather then take offence seeing as there is nothing offensive about asking someone else to do work for you so much as its annoying and stupid.
Sorry for the correction I'm just a stickler for this stuff.

It's really a unnessesary translation. It is in us. Play thru the us version for the story, and then play the japanese for the extra characters.
