Yeah, that would explain why it looks so damned good; it helps when you a finished US translation.
Though, it's apparent that he plans on doing lots of original work. So it'll still be interesting to see the results.

Perhaps you can merge your hacks into the english version as well. I would get in touch with byuu/tomato when you are finished to see if they say its' alright...

Yeah, that would explain why it looks so damned good; it helps when you a finished US translation. It's true, Darkforce did a pretty good job with vwfs and the like. Also, it's difficult to find a person who can translate from japanese to italian, at least for amateur videogames translation, trust me Perhaps you can merge your hacks into the english version as well. I would get in touch with byuu/tomato when you are finished to see if they say its' alright... If you like it, there are no problems for me.

I think the point DMM was bringing up is that you may want to ask the people who did the English translation if you can use their work in your translation. If you don't, there's potential drama that could ensue.

I sent an e-mail to Darkforce a while ago, still unanswered. Maybe I can talk about that with Tomato.

how come italian translations always look so damn polished to me? Madonna once said: Italians do it better. I guess she wasn't talking about bed affairs after all.

Ahh...This part is finally almost done. This is by far the hardest hack I've done to date. I reprogrammed EVERYTHING from scratch. Without overwriting crucial parts of ram like i did last time. I have an embedded pointer to pointer 24 bit system with a control code for the variables in RAM. The part I'm most proud of is solving most of my space constraint issues with these funky textboxes. I used the smaller textboxes but with my 16 length items it didn't looks so good. Solution... Auto-formatting strings within the SNES assembly....Now items with spaces will automatically wrap around to the next line. Heracles 3 is coming....This time around it will look 10 times as good and be bug free. Oh, I'd almost missed that. I'm really, really glad to hear you're working on this one again. Last time I'd asked it seemed like it was really low priority behind all the DQ projects (which i'm just as excited about, anyway.)

I'm working on an Italian translation of Bahamut Lagoon I wrote a tool in order to handle LZSS de/compression, repointering etc... and also a couple of asm hacks to make it prettier Aw, you shoulda contacted me about the scripts and text files, I would've gladly let you use em. But most of that stuff is pretty basic and probably easy to extract from the translated ROM I bet. Oh well, if you got any questions or anything, just send me a PM anytime

The name selecting screen, with 10 character available (instead of eight), thanks to a 6-bits encoding/decoding :P I came up with that idea first :P Only problem is that you can't fit Thunderhawk in with only ten characters ... I thought about using a capital thorn, but that would've confused the hell out of people. Ah well, not like it matters now anyway.

Why not just hack the whole name system so it has more space?
