So I know I'm venturing into mostly-uncharted territory here, but I figured I'd post and see if anyone had any tips. I've downloaded the PSY-Q manual from the docs archive; haven't really had a chance to go through it, but the index doesn't seem to help much, at least, not at first. So I guess I'll start with some rudimentary questions and work my way forward.

The PS1 at least has 32 main registers. The Saturn has the same - 16 on the master SH2, 16 on the slave. With the PS1, several of these are reserved for math operations, stack stuff, that sort of thing. Thus, my first question (and only, so far): Is this also true on the Saturn, and if it is, which are the reserved registers and what are they reserved for?

You would probably be better off asking someone like CyberWarriorX or trying the Yabuse forum or something.

Check the Sega Saturn webforum at http://segasaturngroup.proboards.com/index.cgi? .

If they don't know, no one will.

I assume you know that the Saturn has a deserved reputation as a hacker's worst nightmare.

I've actually been talking with CyberWarriorX on irc, but thanks for the link.

Have you tried the Shining Force Central forums?  They've been translating the SF III scenarios that weren't released outside of Japan, so someone there might have some tips for you.
