Since I was sick of seeing grass in world 1-1 where bricks should be I put together a hack to change several of the graphics of SMB1 in Super Mario All-Stars. It changes them to graphics which are much closer to what they were in the 8-bit game. The backgrounds have not been touched. The ROM is probably unheadered. I should mention I inadvertintely messed up the title screen, ignore it.

Your link is messed up. So can't you undo the screwed up title screen, so people would enjoy it more? Usually people won't bother with stuff that looks broken from the title screen on. And since your readme doesn't state this, people who read readmes are even more likely to think it is a broken patch. It would also be nice to include canonical rom names and checksums in the readme so people can be sure they patch the right thing.

You could also submit your patch to this site as an improvement patch. I don't know if it will be accepted for a level 1-1 only hack.

Fixed the link, I'm gonna check if repasting the graphics into a new rom will fix the title screen. If that don't work then the problem won't get fixed. Due to the title screen problem I wasn't gonna submit it to the site, this was basically a personal hack but I suppose I don't mind it getting spread around more if the title screen is fixed.

Edit:Uploaded a new version with a fixed title screen.
Edit 2: This is a youtube video of the hack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmlSE5ece9o
