I'm looking for a small team for Pokemon Gold South African Edition, my own hack.

This is what I would like to change from the original:

    * Take place in South Africa (duh) during 500 B.C.
    * Change the logo when the game starts to Pokemon Gold South African Edition
    * Change the storyline
    * Change the background to savanna
    * Make the sprites look more.. South African. Change the skin color, clothes, etc.
    * Add extra gyms, place the final challenge further along.

Any volunteers?

I already got started, the main character has an afro  I would like to make his skin darker though.
I'm sorry but I have great trouble using hex editors, just to warn you, which is why I haven't gotten as far as I would have liked to.

This is actually the most interesting sounding hack idea I've seen in a while, good luck!

Being slightly more helpful than Killa: Generally, when you're seeking help, it's best to show your ability beforehand. Not everyone is a pixel artist, so asking for help with that is understandable, but no one's going to sign on if they're not confident the project will actually be finished. Do everything you can first, then ask for help finishing the art and whatever else, and you're likely to get a more positive response.

The best thing you can do is make some sort of attempt to try some of this stuff on your own, you won't get anywhere by relying on others to do most of the work for you.  This sort of post pops up on every romhacking forum and the reaction is largely the same.  Yeah as above poster said people are more willing to help once you have made some visible effort on your part.

I am curious about this forum it always seemed heavily moderated, are posters granted trolling immunity if a thread or hack concept falls into a certain 'category'? Naked Mario thread springs to mind too.

Sorry, lol, here's the download link, I've already started hacked the sprites:

-link removed-

Sorry the page is coated in ads, just scroll down, it'll be kinda hard to tell the true download link, lol.

Anyway, some changes I made is that I gave the main character an afro (it bounces, but it flattens, I need to fix that), I gave the antagonist crazy hair, I'm going to make little flies buzz around his head. Also, in the beginning of the game, you get extra money. The main characters mother also has braids.

Remove that link and upload an *.IPS patch.
ROMs are not allowed here for download.

RHDN should not be used as your vehicle to piracy. Any talk and/or hotlinking to illegal material, such as ROMs, ISOs, DVDRips, Animations doesn't belong here.

Use a tool like LunarIPS to make a patch that contains only the differences between the original rom and your new modified rom. Posting an IPS patch is allowed on RHDN.

OK, as I've stated above, I've already taken care of a bunch of the graphics, Cheesy like changing up the sprites, changing the starter Pokemon, etc. I need help now to change skin color, text, the title screen, etc. Anybody here?

check out pokemoncommunity.com, they have a forum dedicated to hacking, including tools for editing the "metal" generation of games.  they also have a good number of tutorials and so on, could help.
