So, I'm fairly sick of the 'YAH, HARRR HUH!' link voice samples in the GBA port of LTTP.

Before I try searching around the rom myself, and most likely fail repeatedly, does anyone know the locations of where these samples are? Or if anyone knows an easy way to disable them, I'd be incredibly grateful.

You know, you could always play the SNES version instead. Alternatively, you can also lower the volume of the GBA and put on a CD of the Zelda LTTP soundtrack.

Short answer: what he said.
Not-so-short answer: The game is obviously doing something to play those sounds. Figure out what that is and change it so it doesn't play. Or if you really want to, figure out where the sounds are and nerf them. And if you're looking for an easier way? Then do what he said. Wink

Bit hard when commuting to london and back on a train, with a GBA Micro and EZ Flash IV in my pocket! Although, listening to music is always an option, I prefer hearing the sounds of the game. Without the silly added voices, of course. heh.

Ah well. I'll put this idea on the backburner for a bit, and when I get some time, I'll really get cracking with VBA and my hex editor.

I can't remember the name but there was a tool a while back that let you play music directly from GBA roms - it also gave you the offsets for the sample data, you could try using that to find the offset and simply zero it out

I think it was called sappy or something

I have sappy.

And not for one second did I think of using it. Silly me.

I wouldn't mind hearing the voice samples for when he slices removed. Other than that it don't bother me much.
