I was just wondering there are two translations that I have fixed some minor bugs for.
Do I just submit my patches as a bug fix on here or do I contact the authors for permission first.. My patches don't break anything, they just improve the playability. I'm clueless because I've never done a Bugfix before.
It'll be a few days before I can submit them anyway since Google crapped out on me, I have to find a place to store them. So thought I would ask before submitting them.

Contact the author first, I'd say. If they decide to release an official patch with your fixes, then that eliminates some potential confusion.

Thanks for the advice.
I thought that might be a better solution, and the one say's to contact them if you have any fixes in the read me. Then it looks like we don't accept bug fixes anymore, or that is something that hasn't been restored yet.

If it comes to it, you could always upload it as a new version of the patch. As long as the original creator is credited, there shouldn't be any toes or feelings stepped on.

That could of worked I guess, but it's okay I got permission to update the one on here. The author doesn't have much time for updating anyway and was really cool about it. I might even do some more work on it in the future.
For the other one I think I might have to try resubmitting it as a different version like you suggested because it is a complete mapper change back to the original mapper which allows you to play it on most newer emulators, when they did the translation they either changed the mapper or used an uncommon dump of it so it is only playable on one emulator. My patch makes in compatible with more than one emulator..
And no I didn't break it I can rebuild an nes rom image program assisted of course as long as there aren't mapper or mirroring problems. :banghead: Which in this case there weren't any problems as the rom had originally used the same mapper before Goodnes3.14 anyway..
Edit come to think of it. It probably would be called a hack, it doesn't improve or fix any real bug in the translation. And I may have forgotten what translation it is. :banghead:
