I am having a really big issue with getting the game to read the english characters half-width like they're supposed to be read and like they are read in every other Tales game (with the exception of Phantasia and Destiny 2).
As you can see, it's disgusting:

Is there anyone at all who may be able to help me get it fixed?
Literally, I will accept any help...
Just PM me or post here or whatever's best for you.
Thank you.

How experienced are you with the particular flavor of assembler for PS2 and with the addressing (and CD-related issues) on PS2?

It might be as easy as having to find the right values (if the game already has this kind of text) or changing some stuff around to read another width (if it's sprite-based for instance) or as hard as coding an own vwf in there.

Applying an asm hack to reduce the spaces within the characters is impossible for me because of the lack of tools available.
Maybe the game uses float values to store the size of the text... I guess I can look into it but chances are there are tons of the same value...
