Hi,

some months ago I started programming a Zelda4DX editor. Unfortunately, I soon lost interest in it.

You can have a look at it here: http://cooltoby.co.funpic.de/zelda/dl.php

The reason why I am actually posting is that I am looking for somebody who might be interested to continue this project.

It's written in C# (as you might already have guessed by the name of the archive).

If somebody is interested just post here, so I can send you the source files.

I think if somebody would write a save function, you could already use it for small hacks...

Another interesting idea might be to develop the tool in the some open source environment where everybody could contribute.

Yours,

cooltoby

Why don't you just release the source and let anyone else take it up without having to wait for you? Just saying; you do what you think is best.

Still, I think its cool that there's at least an unfinished Zelda: LA editor!

Hey, what about Nephi?  Still, that's pretty cool.  One thing that LA desperately needs is overworld editing, and side view graphics in order to edit it more effectively.

I'd be interested in the source for programming reference. For some reason I am deficient when it comes to map editor mechanics. I never got very far when making a map editor for a game I was making. Game progress was going well, map editor progress was terrible. Hell, they basically do the same thing, so why do they seem so different to me?  Undecided\

If you want, you can add it to the Abandoned Section for anybody to pick up any time.

Ok, here is the source:
http://cooltoby.co.funpic.de/zelda/dl.php?source=1

It's currently licensed under GPLv2, but if someone wants to use parts of the project or continue the project under a different license, just contact me.
I think as long as you give credits for my work there should be no problem there.

Some parts of the code might appear quite hacky, but the project was still in an early state of development when I stopped working on it.

So did you even find events and dungeons? Or is this just the whole code we worked on in VB6 converted to C#?

Yes, it supports events and dungeon. It's a recode and should have very little to none similarity to the old VB6 version.

You mean sprites, right?  Events are freaking hardcoded, so good luck changing those.

Edit:  Unless you are talking about dungeon events, in which case only the Color Dungeon's events are hardcoded.
