You make it seem as if you have no skill whatsoever. At least you can manage to look at hex code without your eyes bleeding out and your head spinning saying "OMG numbers, OMG numbers, OMG NUMBERSSSSSS". All I can do is play around with the tiles in Tile Layer Pro. :/ Although I think I'll try playing around with other stuff... Having read that some people here started off first editing tiles and climbing up from there has given me some more inspiration and courage to try learning more about rom hacking.

Wow, that's actually pretty flattering, thanks.  I hadn't thought of it like that.  I mostly just figured out the absolute basics of hex stuff for script rips.  Mucking around with just viewing stuff does reveals some interesting stuff, though, I have to admit.  (For example:  The game I was looking at has this obnoxious quirk where it uses pointers to add dakuten and handakuten to the main in-game text, but for whatever reason doesn't do it for the in-game jobs, so if you want to find the jobs in the text, you have to search for the kana as they'd look UNMODIFIED.  I'm not entirely sure how that works, though.)

Who knows, maybe I'll work up the guts just to go in and mess stuff up for a bit sometime.  Er, deliberately, I mean.

I think you should. I could relate this to an RPG, where "fighting" more gives you more experience, in which turn you level up and get "stronger". Tongue I'm such a geek.

A real geek would know that all you have to do to raise stats is to consume seeds, such as the AGL Seed, the STR Seed, etc. Really now. And equip the best type of equipment, usually made out of mythical armor and stuff.

I didn't kill it, did I?
