Hi,

First post here, looking for a little help.  I'm working off of another person's patch of Brigandine: Grand Edition.  The person before me was able to replace the English font in the game with a slimmer font, and redirect some of the font tables to the English font.  Unfortunately, it is only some of the text and not all of it.  Now, I am completely capable of translating all of the text that is currently capable of redirecting to the English font table, however I wish to get the rest of the text.  I assume I need to look at the Assembly, however I do not know the first thing about Assembly to know what to change.  How easy is it to trace what the previous coder did, and what am I looking for when I run a trace??  If anyone is able to help it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

The Newbie Package of REQUIRED Material
You might want to have a look at some of these documents; I don't know how helpful they would be (I'm not a ROM hacker or translator), though.

Thank you for the links, unfortunately most of them are a bit too basic for what I'm trying to do.  I did, however, see a document on the PSX hardware with some "Definitions" of assembly language that may help me.  If anyone knows what to look for, or can point me in the right direction it would help.  Also, is there a good tracer that can dump into a text file??

http://www.romhacking.net/docs/127/ Basic PSX guide, most everything you need to know to get started.

http://www.romhacking.net/utils/236/ Klarth's tracer makes finding code in psx games "relatively" easier.

Nice to see that this version of Brigandine is getting attention.

That "Basic" PSX Guide does help a lot... unfortunately I still have no idea what I'm looking for.  However, after running some traces I did find some pointers.  Nothing I'm going to use atm, but helpful knowledge, heh.
