Thanks to http://ryoga.heypoorplayer.org/chrono/comp_text.php, some translations can go on with this project.  So far, the basic menu parts are working and what not.  Norstein Bekkler's tent is translated as a little test dummy to see what's possible.

- As you can see, the VWF routine itself isn't quite um...ready yet.  Still trying to figure out how to get that to work.

Anyways, more into the Pre-Release: The Imps that block Guardia Forest are removed, the music in some locations that had none or were wrong were changed to be the "Final" version, the Robots in 2300 AD blockading are gone, etc etc...The game is fully playable up 'till 65,000,000 BC Chief's Hut.  Vehek, amazing hacker of CT, was able to recompress Final Chief's Hut event into the Pre-Release and get it to somewhat work.  Which means that it IS possible to expand on it!

Other Features in Pre-Release
---------------------------------------------
3 Digit MP is available apparently
Level 99 isn't the max.  You CAN go above it, it'll stay say 99, but you'll still level up.
# of items held when equipping
# of MP used on tech without actually going into the tech itself to see

Features to Implent/Remove/Edit
---------------------------------------------
Remove both the MP and # items.  This will open up 2-3 more slots for item/tech naming...Just like the final
VWF Routine that actually works and shows up
Multi-Lingual text (Should be possible...but requires hell of a lot more editing)
VWF Menu Routine (Patched on Compendium that works with translated item names from JP...Hopefully to implement this into the Pre-Release)
All Tech data so that they can all be seen and used graphically/Sound wise
etc..

But yea...Basic setup of it so far.

Are you sure your VWF troubles aren't just from wrong width values in your width table?

Looks like he might just be using the original font routine.

It's the original font routine as RedComet said.  I've been having issues trying to figure out what to do to get it to work like the US version.

I didn't have any trouble inserting the US version's VWF routine. What are you doing?

Tried copying the pieces from the US version into the pre-release.  Didn't work to well.  When that happened, the font itself disappeared.  Went piece by piece by 20 bytes until I went up to where they both start, didn't help either.  Since I'm not that great to change routines and what-not for it to work, so not quite sure on that.  That's something I need to learn still.

Edit: On other parts, I think I'm going to go through and label each event coding piece from the pre-release so we have an idea what to change to what if we need to import from the final.

I'm working on this periodically here and there.  Found the length of item names and what not to do this.  Have to re-arrange the menu a slight bit and fix a few things here and there.
