I was wondering... since Square Enix is releasing these 2 titles stateside would it be possible to take the translated text and use it as a translation for the Super Famicom versions? I'm more interested in playing the original versions of the game versus the 3-D remakes.

They've already been translated. Actually, DQV was translated twice.

Yeah. DQV has two 100% translations, if I recall. DQVI was at 95% or something last I heard.

Asking if a script from a later version of a game can be inserted into an older version is sort of like asking if your mother can fuck your paternal grandfather.

Yes, it's possible, but I don't think you want to think about it. >.>

Oh come on, that's a terrible example. It has no where near the amount of text that a DQ game has.

Are you saying, in any way shape or form, that DQ, is not on the same level as hello kitty?  It is people like you that are dragging this community down!

But you said ALWAYS! (And didn't someone figure out that the Japanese version of DQIV DS already had the English script in it and you could translate it by changing one byte or was that some other game?)

I nominate you for the next presidency of the United ROM Hacking Nation. (Now that I spend 20 seconds thinking about it, from what I know of the two things, culturally they are about equal in Japan, are they not? Obviously, DQ is the more popular as far as gaming goes but Hello Kitty probably kicks ass in total merchandise sales. Plus, you've never seen Dragon Quest mentioned on The Simpsons.)

Hello Kitty seems to be Victorious http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,278887,00.html

I was hoping to find sales numbers, I got that instead , and it told me all I needed to know.  Looking up sales numbers, like a proper RHN presidential candidate =p

Sort of
Lisa uses her computer to visit Virtual Doctor on the Internet. It's "from the makers of Dragon Quest!".
Okay, I guess it shouldn't count because the series didn't use the name in the US until about 2003, and this episode aired before then (1999/2000).
