Now the Kirby Super Star Ultra is out, would be possible to do a graphic hack for the original Kirby Super Star, to make it look like Ultra?

That depends on how much the DS game breaks SNES limitations. Also the compression system used, graphics changes of some SNES games can be fairly difficult for newbies because of that.

I'll triple that. I think a mention should go in the FAQ or something. Something like:

Q: Is it possible to...

A: In all likelyhood, yes, it's possible. Unless what you're trying to do is completely beyond the capabilites of the platform you're working with, practically anything can be done. Will it be easy? Perhaps not; but with enough effort ...

I kinda ran out of steam, but that's the gist of it. I suppose at some point, you'd basically have to alter the game so heavily you might as well write your own (not in this specific question's case), but it's still possible.

The people this would apply to won't read the FAQ anyway. In a lot of cases those "Can it be done" questions lead to "Who will do it for me?". I actually suggested in staff discussions once that we ban such questions entirely, but it's hard to draw a line between valid questions and "stupid" questions, not to mention it's even harder to write a cut and dry policy that covers it.

Maybe I should just reply "Yes" to those threads and then close them right away. Roll Eyes

You could always go the way that one sonic forums went and have them take a test to create a board account.

Make it so they have to answer the rules or some-such.

Ugh my mouth tastes bad I can't believe I said that.

What differences are there between the games? Only thing I see different is the mini-games and FMV clips

Just the touchscreen, the new minigames, and the FMVs, really. I don't know that there's all that much graphical improvement.

I just started playing it yesterday, and the graphics in their entirety are actually altered, though it's only slightly. For instance, in The Great Cave Offensive they changed the graphics for the chest. Only someone who's played the original game a dozen or two times would notice, but it's there.

I don't think it would be worth going into trying to make the SNES version look the same as the DS version.

The powers have been altered a fair bit, IIRC.

Yeah, I didn't notice until I was beating Milky Way Wishes yesterday, but the hammer power has this...flaming uppercut (Shoryuken!) move, I imagine a bunch of others were added too.

Oh, and in the great cave offensive, they changed some of the treasures. Remember "Summertime" and that bunch of seasonal hearts? They were combined into one item. And they changed the graphics for the "Falchion" back to look like the sword from FE.
