Finally fixed a (years old) bug in HME's new text editor, removing the only obstacle to me working seriously on my Harvest Moon hack.  Level editing support for the compressed areas is being added to HME now (over half done).

More info on the hack will become available in the next few days as I begin working on it officially, but basically... You can stay on the ranch and farm to your heart's content with some upgrades I've already coded in and still plan on adding -OR- you can leave your ranch and go on a quest (you'll encounter other farms to work on along your way to assist with your income, if you should choose).  There will be enemies.  There will be an actual plot (which will change directions depending on some of your choices).

I'll be doing most of the level editing, text editing, and asm myself.

Sadly, I suck at doing graphics.  If anyone wants to join on to do some sprite and tile editing, please let me know (I will provide all needed resources to locate/decompress graphics, as needed).  Also, if anyone actually knows how to work with the music of the game, help or assistance would be greatly appreciated as well.

Last thing... Which of the following titles sounds right?:
Harvest Moon: Legends
Harvest Moon: Rise of the Ranch Master
Harvest Moon: The Noble Path

The Noble Path. Please, not those other two.

I like the Path concept for the title, but if there are variables in the plot depending on what you do, I'd call it something less decisive, in case someone a lil less than noble plays. Maybe 'Harvest Moon: The Path Less Chosen' or something.

Harvest Moon Tool Rental Shop:  Pimp'n the Hoe.

But seriously, I'd suggest leaving the title untill more work is done.  The best way to get a title is to draw from the finished work.  It is usually a summery of what the game actually entails.  It's kind of like how Chrono Trigger doesn't make sense untill you are almost done the game.
