Forgive me if this isn't the right section, I've tried to work out the best place to post it and I don't want to get flamed at just because I'm a newbie.

Around this site, I see all of these tutorials for SNES, GBA, etc. Rom hacking but I have NEVER seen any tutorial which goes into PS2 Rom Hacking, I know some people will teach it themselves but what about the people who don't pick up things very well?

Knowing my luck and attention, I've probably missed any tutorials but I generally can never find any background information regarding hacking PS2 Roms.
I'd ask those guys at Phantasia Productions that are translating Tales of Destiny but they just bite everyones heads off at every question  :banghead:

Any help appreciated!

This website doesn't have much information on PS2 ROM hacking. It is not as popular due to computer hardware requirements to emulate the newer consoles. Although it is also possible on the new consoles to run your homebrew or hack on the console pretty easily! I know I had a USB program and disk to run homebrew and hacks on my Ps2.

Anyhow PS2dev.org I believe is the site which could help you out. In all I would imagine if you spent some time on it PS2 hacking probably isn't that bad.

But if it's your first romhack period, you should probably start with the better-documented, simpler systems first.

I know they are technically on read-only memory but do yourself a favor and never call a PS2 game a ROM again. It will save you from looking like a noob.

Well I am a newbie so I guess I didn't realise...
Whenever I download a PS2 game though it states it as a PS2 ROM.
If they are not called 'ROMs' do they have another special name, or is it just 'PS2 Game?'

Really? Wow.

Copies of games(Or programs) that come from CD-like formats(CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, etc) are called ISOs. The reason for this is the most common format for them is .iso.

The term would be "Disc Image", usually called ISO though for historical reasons. But whatever you call it is a pretty insignificant question IMO and shouldn't matter Tongue Some people just love to correct other people. VWF is also a "wrong" term, the proper one is proportional font, but no one cares. It only matters as long as someone else is using another term, if everyone uses your terms all is good Tongue /sarcasm

On topic: There aren't really any tutorials for PS2 game hacking. The topic is too complex to break it down into simple step-by-step instructions everyone can easily understand. Every game is vastly different. And the entry level to PS2 hacking is very very high. You can't just grab a tile editor and start changing Mario's appearance like you'd with a NES game. A part from comes from the disc based format but other factors matter as well. That's also why there propably never will be any easy PS2 tutorials for beginners. Get your experience on other platforms and then come back. The available tools are also greatly lacking afaik, so that's another problem already.
