I've never heard of this game. The screenshots look like it's pretty fun. Shame that the translator doesn't intend on actually making a translated game, though; text translations are interesting to glance over, but that's about it.

I especially like the phrase at the bottom that says "everyone should have a procedure for accepting donations". I support donations for translators and certainly don't want to start a discussion on the subject, but I just think that's a funny way to put it.

Wow, who is this person? I tend to mostly agree with what he said in "How Translations Work"... Looks like he has real-world script translation experience, or at least he's been taught by someone who knew his stuff. I haven't seen anyone who's involved in a game translation with that sort of opinion in a long time.

Considering he says he doesn't have any experience hacking stuff, he's off to a very good start.

It looks like perhaps a fan-made game?  Interesting though.  Sadly I could never mod my PSX so I couldn't play it even with a patch.

The game they're translating? It's by a company called....Love De Lic, or something like that. They only had three or so games (that one, and one Dreamcast game, I know for sure).

I just signed up to make a thread letting people know about the project, and there's one here already. Awesome Smiley

Regarding Spinner 8's comment about text transaltions, I agree. The guy who's translating isn't fussed either way, but I'm posting info about the project everywhere it's even a little bit appropriate in the hopes of attracting someone to pick up the finished translation and make a patch of playable English hack - especially here. I assume most people who know how to do that kind of stuff are all feverishly working on their own personal projects at all times... if anyone is reading this who's interested, please let us know.

Extra translation help would also be a plus.

I got linked to care.org by clicking on the forum link as well... cut and pase into your browser and it'll work fine.

Thanks!

Hardcore Gaming 101  put up an article about the company Love de Lic some time ago.
http://hg101.classicgaming.gamespy.com/lovedelic/lovedelic.htm
They made some very obscure games, and after they went down, some members worked on Chibi Robo for example.

Some of the ex members of Love De Lic then created Vanpool, which made Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland on the DS, and you can recognize a lot of things from Moon in it. If you haven't played Tingle yet, I highly recommend it!

Starscream:  Thanks for the link. That was interesting to find out, and now I am rather curious about the games themselves.

From what I've read of the game, it's actually rather innovative.  I picked up a copy of it a while ago.  The review that got me interested in the game is listed on Gamefaqs.  If the review is true, then I'm definitely interested in playing the game.

Awesome! I've been asking for a translation of this for awhile.

Now if someone will just finish up that bloody TearRing Saga translation I'll be good.

I'm definitely interested in working on this.  I'm going to go poke around this guy's website and maybe help with the translation.  Neat-o.  Smiley

This game got so much hype but when I played it I thought it was way overrated.

Are you sure?  Supposedly it (i.e. changes part-way through)

However, I can't verify this as I have only rudimentary Japanese skills and therefore generally don't play more than a few minutes of any RPG in Japanese.  Only sharing the hearsay, here.
