I am sorry if I have posted this on the wrong board.
I am trying to contact the guys who did the Translation for the Japanese Star Wars game for the FamiCom (NES), Because I have found a bit that was left untranslated, unfortunately they seem to have no contact info even on their patch's webpage. So if anyone can give me their e-mail addresses I will send them a screenshot of where the text is found along with a savestate file so they can access it. I have no knowledge in ROM translation but am willing to help them make a complete 100% translation of said game. Thank you in advance for those who can help.

If you're interested, I've marked out which points needs to be addressed on the earlier released translation, just view my review on Mukimuki & Shinta's translation found on the translation section.

I will. Thanks a lot for the information.
So that you know what's going on. I'm starting over from scratch on the translation. I have the scripts translated by Hoonokatana. Continues have been added by bbitmaster as a bonus for the translation. He also made a map to make your way through the Deathstar a little easier.
The reasons why I'm starting over is because I want to do a better job on the status window, and a few other areas in the game. Also, after the translation was complete, I didn't really care much about the project for awhile, so somehow I lost my work.

I have a very interesting question for you regarding this game.
Back in the days of the FamiCom, there was a "stage select" cheat for this Star Wars game, you used to slide a small coin in between the pins of the FamiCom's peripheral expansion slot, until you see a screen with numbers on it, those numbers correspond to the game's various stages, you either press left or right to scroll through the numbers to select a stage then press start to start the game. So my question is, how can you access that stage selection screen on an emulator (I use NEStopia by the way)?
Also the game has an ending that changes depending on how fast you finish it & how many lives you had/lost before you beat it. This ending comprises Luke, Han Solo or Chewbacca having different Medals depending on how you finish (as I said earlier), the difficulty setting also affects this. And as another tidbit, if you use the stage select trick to go to the last level (the trench run) & beat it without dying once, you get the "correct" ending to the game where Luke & Han Solo each recieve the gold medals.
This was the part left untranslated:

So my question is, how can you access that stage selection screen on an emulator (I use NEStopia by the way)? I haven't heard of that trick at all, I'll look into that soon and see what I can come up with. Also the game has an ending that changes depending on how fast you finish it & how many lives you had/lost before you beat it. This ending comprises Luke, Han Solo or Chewbacca having different Medals depending on how you finish (as I said earlier), the difficulty setting also affects this. How do you know for a fact that the "correct" ending will be given if you use the cheat? As far as the missed translated text is concerned, is that the screen from the untranslated game or the translated version? Because I think the text would be cavespeak if the font was changed. Unless the text is using another font set. I haven't touched the game in along time, which is going to be real soon when I start working on it. I have been tying up a few loose ends with my other projects first.

As I said earlier, I used to have an actual copy of the FamiCom cartridge of this game. And I've played it over & over enough to know every nook & cranny of every level.
First off, yes that screen shot was from the game that had been patched with the translation, I'm guessing you've missed this part, as this section of the level is very easy to miss. Back when I still played this game (in its raw japanese form) I would always experiment on all of Luke's friends as in certain points of the game, certain characters can trigger certain things, like C3P0 can talk with the whale & guard in the Ice level, or you need Obi Wan to beat the Darth warrior in the Death Star. So, after you save Han Solo, I said to myself," If this is the last planet level, where will you use Han?" Then as I was playing through the level at one time, I saw in the corner of my eye this branch that looked like a ladder (see screen shot), I've always passed this area before unknowingly, so then I began clicking on every character icon 'til I hit on Han Solo then voila! a ladder drops down! Actually, you can reach that ladder without talking to Han, but if you climbed it without talking to him you won't access the short cut , which is atop the tree, you won't face enemies & will hop across those vanishing blocks to the top of the Base, you then have to destroy four blocks to open a door that drops you off at the section of the level leading to the last Darth (Vader?) warrior where you need Chewbacca to breakdown the door to access the last corridor leading to the end level battle. .
As for the coin slide trick, a classmate of mine back in the day, taught me that, apparently, this game wasn't the only one that uses this trick, I can't remember the others though, but this game I know by heart. Yeah a lot of people never liked this game during its time, but being a Star Wars geek, I loved it .
As for the ending of the Game. Have you seen the ending sequence after the Death Star explodes? The game shows you your progress right, it tells you how many lives you have & lost & how long it took you to finish? That has something to do with the award ceremony sequence. And again back in the day, whenever I finished the game by going directly to the trench run stage & beating it without dying I always got the "correct ending" (if you base it on the movie) where Luke & Han are awarded the medals. To be honest I think you can get the correct ending without cheating, but you've got to be very good (not dying & finishing fast), that said, even on an emulator, the fastest I can finish the game is under 46 minutes (it's that blasted Death Star's fault, even now I still get lost in it grr!) & with under 46 minutes of gameplay & never dying once my ending is Luke & Chewbacca (yuck!) awarded with the gold medals. And oh, the crappier you finish (longer time to finish & more times you died) , the crappier your award, you can get either gold, silver or bronze & who ever gets them also changes, but it's always luke with the other medalist being Han or Chewbacca.
Hope that helps you
