How would I go about this. I want some specific graphics from FFTA2. I've already use DS Lazy to extract the files, but which files are graphics?

Look for filenames ending in "*_g.xap". These are viewable in GBA format.

I unpacked the FFTA2 rom using DS Lazy. =)
All I found was .bin files and a single .idx file. =(

None of the bin files seem to display correctly in YY-chr. Where do I go from here?

Well, for starters, you should be using Tile Molester. ^_^;

.bin files could be anything. You might be out of luck if the graphics are compressed. Keep an eye out for any likely filenames and try 'em out in Tile Molester. Try all the codecs until something comes up.

OK. I'll give it a shot, but I'd be willing to bet that most of the graphics are compressed.

From what I've seen from NDS games, they're almost never named the same. ".xap" must be what Death Note uses, I assume.
Compressions in NDS games are usually lzss/lz77 (or the creators use a custom compression, then you're not so lucky Tongue)

No dice. Can't get any of the files to display anything.

The compression is most likely LZ77/LZSS, RLE, or Huffman, since those can be decompressed with the NDS BIOS.  It could be a mixture of those three, or it could be a custom compression.

I tried lz77/lzss. I didn't know about the others. I'll check those out and see. Thanks! =)
