Megaman 5, one of my favorite Megaman games. I want to make it a little more challenging. But i ran into a problem. And there is a code somewhere and i quite can't figure that out at the moment. So i am looking around and i still can't seem to turn off the effect.

Now on Waveman's stage. I want to get rid of the jet ski and extend the level to a normal level where you don't have to fight the Waveman Mini Boss. I did fine up until the 12th screen where i had the direction go down but on the 13th screen, the screen itself started splitting up. And i had the direction drag megaman down. But it didn't want to go down and megaman got stuck. All i want to know is how to do you remove that bit of programming.

Well first change $3C9F0 to something other than "01"
If you do not plan on using the jet ski thing the whole game, then just change the number to "FF" that'll ensure that it never triggers the event.

Then be sure to delete the jet ski sprite from the stage in the Enemy Editor screen of the MegaFLE Level Editor, as well as the mid boss too if you wish.

I am using the Megaflex and i can't seem to find that address. So i'll have to use a Hex Editor then. I'll let you know if anything else happens. Thank you very much Kuja Killer.

Oh, yea that offset i mentioned would have to be done in a hex editor. fceuxd NES emulator recommended.

I found the address  Cheesy thank you VERY much. I might be the first one to make a Megaman 5 rom hack with edited levels. Thank you very much again, once again Kuja Killer.

Well we'll see. Smiley I have played quite a few mm5 hacks before myself already. But they were all done by japanese authors. So yea maybe you might be the first one that has an "english" mm5 hack. Smiley

Okay, now if i wanted to use graphics from Bubbleman's stage. I am mostly looking for the water areas. How would i extract that and put it in this game as a piece of graphic. Do you know the name of the tool to extract and then import graphics?

There is no easy tool. You've got to download a tile editor (YY-CHR, Tile Molester, Tile Layer Pro, etc), open the ROM you want the graphics from, find the graphics in the ROM, then copy them over to the right location in the ROM you're hacking. It's simple enough.
