When you use the Sprite Editor:

Most of the preformed Sprites won't allow you to change any variables, just the text displayed, the drop menus are inaccessible:

But others let you choose some of them:

Is there anyway to circumvent this and choose all aspects of a Sprite? If I can figure this bit out, than I think I have what I need to be capable of a completely original game using the engine but without any similarities to the original (i.e. Dragoon Omega). I looked up Paulygon who made it, but I couldn't really find any info. Google had too many results, and with related topics added, too few. So I came to you guys. Any help?

The editor wont let you code a whole new event, it's limited to doing simple things.

If you really want to create a "completely original game" you are going to have to recode in ASM.
