I know a little from learning it at school, and there's tons of translators around the internet.

And thanks Grin

I really doubt you can translate a game like that with no romhacking experience, I'm struggling enough with Re:CoM as it is.

I'm not saying it's impossible but jumping on a game like that so soon is gonna make your life pretty difficult.

Best just read the romhacking documents and stuff, that's the only way you'll get anywhere. Let's just say this board isn't exactly "Newbie friiendly".

Yes it is. What it is not is "hold my hand and walk me through everything step by step friendly". If a person makes an effort to show they've tried to do something on their own and explain exactly what it is they're having trouble with, they usually get helped. If they ask a vague question like "how do you change the pointers in Super Chinpokoman 64?" with nothing further to clarify what they know about the game and what they've tried, you're damn right we're not friendly. Why should we waste our valuable time for someone who has no intention of helping himself/herself?

Well I'm just saying from my point of view. Myself, I read most of the documents, probably everything in the "newbie" section and when I came asking for questions, wasn't very newbie friendly.

Maybe since you ignored all replies and asked the same question 10 times instead? Get out of this thread or you're gone for good this time.

I've got some advice for newbies too.

One good way to help avoid flak around here, is acknowledging your abilities or lack thereof. Like me. Everyone knows I don't know much hacking aside from parts of Lunar Magic.

Don't bite off more than you can chew either! Making threads about projects clearly far beyond your current experience can be annoying to others.

So, to summarize, when asking a question, you have to prove you are willing to do the legwork, and you have to listen.

That is the difference between us treating you like a "CANT HACK METROID" newbie and a prospective valuable member of the community. Like DarknessSavior*, who if I remember correctly, had no hacking experience outside of the "Roll your own" Mario editor before he got here.

* If I am wrong here I truly apologize, it has been quite some time since you joined

If you honestly feel the need to threaten me, then I have no more interest in it. So I'll be the mature one and stop posting in this thread. I could honestly show you guys proof of how that's not true, but me being the enemy here, I'm always going to be the wrong one(As anyone who argues with me is going to be Mr. Right even if there wrong). Great point is, how I've showed people how I'm actually tryed helping myself(Read all the recommended documents, blah blah and you still say I ignored advice) and people are still yacking about "How are we suppose to help someone who won't help himself?".

Oh well. This post is gonna get deleted anyway and I've got an IP ban to look forward to for having my own opinion. [Foresight] Rai, you have been banned from this forum! Reason: Who knows. Bye guys. Maybe IT IS high time I took my projects somewhere else. Somewhere where I'm not always gonna be treated as the enemy.

I haven't been following your history to know what's going on, but it sounds like people feel that you aren't making any progress without someone holding your hand. Maybe if you posted some of your completed projects, people would lighten up?

There's tons of proof that I've worked on SRW Alpha and tons of proof that I've also worked on Fire Emblem. Funniest thing is, out of all those threads, I think most of the advice was "Figure it out yourself" or "Read this particular document". Out of all the threads, I don't think I've gained any valuable info that's actually helped towards that progress. I've also learned Japanese and am mostly translating it myself, asking people on the script forum if I don't understand a little part. So I have VERY much helped myself if so, FAR more than a lot of people have. And when I'm banned, I'll still be helping myself, I'll still be working on Fire Emblem and SRW Alpha.
